Domesticated dogs should not be attacking other animals / people.
So by that rationale, if a dog kills a rabbit it should be destroyed because it's shown to be a threat?

That is simply nature taking its course. The smaller dog was in the larger dogs grasp for 5 minutes, if it wanted to kill it in that space of time I'm sure it would have done so. Stabbing it was a totally unjustified action. Let alone 23 times. The fact he was aggressive towards the animal by punching it more than likely worsened the situation, and temperament of the larger dog.
It reads to me like a case of overbearing emotion for his pet, and possibly an underlying grudge masking any sense of reasoned thinking.

Was that not your argument?
Guy deserves a medal, 110% the woman's fault.
Police also over reacted by locking him up for a day - most cops know their local beat, at least someone in the station would have known the dog was a menace.
The dog would be alive still had the woman taken the time to train it properly.
Simple strait forward situation and outcome, if it was me I'd of shot it in the neck with my crossbow then slit it's throat / stabbed it in the brain (which ever way avoided the small dog) - 23 times because I guess the dude was fuming and stabbing it in 'lesser vital areas' - I.e. in the stomach/chest but its head muscles were still clamped shut on the little dog

If your dog is such a runt that it gets caught by a stronger dog that's nature I'm afraid.
Lucky that dog didn't go for a child to be honest.
The woman should not of had that dog of its lead. If the dog that was attacked had been child what would have happened then? People like her should not be allowed dogs like that as they are a danger to society.
