is this how fps is now ?

It really just does look like a graphically enhanced cod, all the in your face crap when you kill someone, the whole screen just gets very cluttered quite fast.

Seems games these days are just catering for 12 year olds and not much more.

gunna make you laugh now but cod 2 is still played daily by 2x as many as bf3 ! :p still one of most popular fps played.

Dude, I can't help but notice on this thread that you keep posting "factual" statements without anything to show for it. I also notice that you seem to ignore the posts where people, myself included, have asked you for further information regarding your claims. Why is that?

Why are FPS the way they are? Because of this.

Not quite. He's on about the transactions where you will be playing games like Battlefield, and say for instance that you run out of ammo, something would popup on your screen asking you to pay to reload your clip because he says people won't care when they're that engaged in their game, and the moment that appears in a game is the moment that company can **** off.

Yes I heard what he said. The point is his attitude, it's no longer about gaming, purely making money.

And that's what drives many of the franky contemptable decisions we see in today's FPS genre.

Just read the thread properly and for crying out loud, the bottom line is, the majority of people moaning and complaining in this thread about BF:3, MoH and future titles due to the gameplay, graphics or porting from console to PC will all pretty much play the game, i've been there and done that too.

nope

i would have given my bf3 to anyone but i have other games on my account

will i be buying moh nope

will i be buying any more ea title = nope

All my money goes to Indie developers anyway or companies that are non ea related, I'll never buy an ea related game again,. Want my money, drop that publisher and go Indie or kickstarter! ;)

**NEWS FLASH** He is the CEO of a multi-national corporate entity. He is paid to care about money. Why? Because he is responsible for the overall performance of the company. That his is remit.

I wonder about the naivety of Gamers when I read posts like the one I have quoted. The gaming industry is about one thing. To make money. It is no different from any other form of product or service based economic environment. Turnover, market share and ultimately profit is the objective.

The industry isn't a charity to keep Gamers with an over inflated opinion of their self-entitlement satisfied. I don't understand how difficult that is to understand. Ultimately if you can't handle the truth change your hobby. Unfortunately you will find out that no matter where you go the organisations involved with it only care about one thing. Money.

Such a blinkered view in life. And ultimately pointless.

May I ask if you avoid large publishers or studios when deciding what books to read or films to watch? Perhaps you only shop in a local privately owned grocer too? Because last think you want is to give Tesco or Walmart any of your money. They care even less about the consumer than the devil EA;p

Yes and that's precisely why mainstream games today are inferior to their predecessors, when it wasn't ALL about impressing shareholders and the developers weren't stifled in their creativity by what their corporate execs told them.
