Windows 8 who's buying/upgrading

The main thing is driver support for me. Will need to wait a few months for the finger print reader, webcam and graphics on my Lenovo laptop to catch up. They don't work under windows 8 which is Lenovo being slack! The drivers are still in beta.

Which model? Fingerprint reader on my lenovo has been working since release preview.

The consumer release version won't allow me to adjust the screen resolution on my netbook to the required size for the apps on the tiles. E.g. photos, calender, mail, etc. So it looks like Windows 8 is out of the question for me anyway.

What's the native resolution of the screen?

This has probably been answered already but here goes..

I'm currently running Windows 8 consumer preview, I don't have an old Windows key so how much is it going to cost me to buy this? It will most likely have to be a fresh install with a brand new key.

Cheapest way? :D

It has 1024x600 listed as recommended and won't allow me to go higher. Requires 1024x768.

1024x600 is typically the hardware limitation of many netbooks.

Windows 8 Apps minimum requirement is 1024x768. There was a tweak you could do on the previews - not sure if it still works on RTM - to get them running on your lower resolution, but some elements may be out of place.

just started my windows 8 download going to upgrade to this

Microsoft Windows 8 Professional 64-bit (English-Great Britain)

Cost £0.00

I'm hoping OcUK send out for release day as I ordered my copy to work and release day is the last day before i'm on holiday :(

If you can get an OEM or full Retail XP, Vista or 7 license for cheap, then you'll be able to get a Windows 8 Pro upgrade for £24.99.

I got Windows Vista Ultimate x64 OEM with a product key but never use it for the last 2 years. Do I need to install this first, then go for cheap Windows 8 Pro upgrade £24.99 with WMC £0.00 ?
