Quick question for those who know what they are talking about..... I have recetly bought some kevlar pads from superstar components and I noticed the standard disks I have say "Resin pads only" on them. Does this really matter? Is this an excuse to get a new front disc too?

Cheers

Dave

I feel for you :(

It's the worst pain I've ever had when I broke mine, broke it in two places luckily didn't need an op. Could hardly walk for weeks afterwards without grimacing at the pain.

That sounds about right, I'm dosed up to my eyeballs but its still the worst pain I've ever experienced.

Hopefully don't need an op either, further X-ray a week today to check its aligned still. I really hope it is.

:(:(:(

Sunday we went to Penmachno, first time there and I was pretty impressed. Miles of narrow, rocky singletrack, we were all having a blast ... Until I came a cropper and landed badly off a jump. Knew straight away something was wrong, a trip to A&E later and I've a broken collarbone :(

Anyone else done a similar injury? The pain is unreal at the minute.

Currently housebound having broken both my collarbones two weeks ago following a trip over the handlebars whilst in Sardinia.

Thank god for Sky+

Pain should subside after a week or so.

It's gone mate, sorry.
There is another size L 2012 version that might be of interest to you? How tall are you?

The spec on the other one is a lot higher though, so let me know your budget and we can work something out.

This is my mate's / business partner's bike which is about 6 months old if that.

After CRC messed up an order for my new brakes and took over a week to tell me i canceled it an ordered with Merlin cycles instead. Next day they arrived i love the billet crc machined look.

Really hope they make the difference i expect them too.

Done a lot of messing about with my bikes over the weekend, so now my Distortion has everything from the Blue Pig. Cranks, shifters, derailleurs, forks.. It's like a brand new bike! Some of the stock components were stupidly heavy! Can't wait to get out to Greno Woods on it Friday, I think swapping from the Marzochhi fork over for the Revelation is going to make a crazy difference.

Can someone advise on my K18 lever body trouble please?

The lever was not returning to its "outboard" position and pressing the brake. So I bled it and it was a little better... Bled it again but no improvement.
So stripped the lever body last night and give it a good clean, applied a very fine layer of grease to the rubber parts (all were fine and no degradation, splits), assembled it all back and bled the brake, same thing :D

I'm going to strip it again tonight but lubricate with Dot fluid and fill the reservoir before reassembling...

Any ideas please guys?

Can anyone recommend a tool/technique for replacing the rear shock bearings on a Specialized Enduro 2004? LBS wants £60 to do it so if I can get a tool or something for less then I'll do that!

Just wack the old bearing's out any how as long as you dont damage the frame, go to a bearing specialist and get all the right bearings then wack em back in with a socket that fits on the outer ring of the bearing being careful not to damage it. You can make yourself a press using a bolt, nut, socket and washers/spacers if you dont want to hammer them in.

Well I've got the replacement bearings so that's one step done. Knocking them in with a socket is fine, but what do you use to get the old ones out, hammer and chisel or something? :p
