Good news I just had to rma a western digital hdd and the postage was to swindon or has it been like this for ages ? I thought it was going to be germany or holland.

I've RMA'd a few WDC drives recently (all Greens) and the Swindon address appears to be just the first stage on their trip to Germany. The replacement drives certainly come from Germany and given the time it takes for the returned drive to show as received by Western Digital I assume that's where the returns go as well.

Still a very good service, although I was disappointed with an Advanced RMA I used for the last drive as it still took almost a week to get the replacement (from Germany) so only a couple of days quicker than the usual RMA.

Seagate do a similar thing where an address in the UK is used, basically a UPS processing centre and the drive is then shipped elsewhere.

Yep sent one off to Swindon a couple of weeks ago, took about a week to turnaround.

+1 I had similar experience with a 2TB green I RMAed a few weeks ago, they sent me a 2.5TB as a replacement.

Yea I swear I sent one back years ago but it had to be sent straight to germany.
