Good bye Ceefax, cheers for everything!

Really fond memories of Digitizer - was awesome! Had some great artwork on there - I seem to remember an image of the man with a long chin with the top of his skull chopped off filling the TV screen and my mum walking in :). In fact I'm so old that my first computer games actually had worse graphics than teletext :) :)

Ah, I'd completely forgotten about Digitiser! It was brilliantly funny and very well written at times. I would read it religiously when I was younger/more in to games.

MOC-MOC-A-MOC.

SWAYZE!

EDIT: I know Digitiser wasn't technically Ceefax, but it deserved another mention!

Now and next was the most useful thing Ceefax ever produced, back before the days of channel planners it used to help me out so much when I couldn't find the tv guide book in the paper or when important stuff happened and broke tv (its how we found something other than the Diana coverage).

Also best bit of trivia from the bbc new article "Bruce Rioch found out he had been sacked as QPR assistant manager when he read it on Ceefax" :D

Bet this time tomorrow there will be news stories coming out about Ceefaxs behaviour when it was around in the 70's and 80's. Innapropriate formatting, spelling mistakes and the odd crude word chucked in. I hear one BBC typist is already crying "reap".

Just too much, teletext was the first thing when i got home, just like the computer on.....web/news of the day is now.

You gota love it, we had everything we have today back in the 80's.

It's all in your head..... thanks for being there:)

Before Final Score on the Red Button, Ceefax had the saturday football scores on a tickertape while watching the rugby or whatever.

Digitiser and Bamboozle, those were the days.

I also remember vividly "watching" the United-Arsenal FA cup semi-final replay on Ceefax and jumping around the room when "Giggs 110'" popped up on screen. It wasn't until days later I actually saw what was the greatest cup goal of all time. :D

spent many a Saturday afternoon watching the football on it.

0-0 then it would takes 10 minutes to work its self back to Division 21 (now league 1)page to then see

Stoke 1-0 Oxford
Kavanagh 75

YAY my first few years of being a stoke fan i watched may of our away games on Ceefax

Yes :D

I remember being really excited when I read on Ceefax that we had poached Forlan from under Middlesbrough's noses. :p
