They do give you the option to make a DVD back up with the downloaded installation.

And I don't get why people are wanting to do clean installations. It's Windows 7 > Windows 8 for most (all?) of us surely?

I've kept personal settings to be retained and all files etc. just upgrade the OS - I don't see any sense in doing different. As long as your PC isn't riddled with viruses etc.

I got a error message after install and it restored Win 7!

Went all the way through the setup and then had a wobbler during one of the reboots.

My PC has a few quirks with drivers and such atm, I'm going to try an upgrade first if that isn't great I'll do a fresh install.

The reason I've done is because A. It's a fresh start B. It forces you to go looking through all the settings - so you see all the new things C. There are even problems going from Mac OS X versions so I ALWAYS do a clean install of anything (that I can).

Aaaaaaaaand I'm in :D

Okay I have a problem here I have a about 15gb free and its saying it needs at least 20GB space, ive removed a few things but only have the 15GB the rest seems to be taken up by my Current Win7 install..anythign I can do about that?

The £24.99 copy is upgrade, right? I need to keep my Windows 7 Retail disks if I buy it? Only asking because they're worth a few bob - would rather sell them than leave them on a shelf gathering dust.
