Yodel Delivery Service - OMG!

I ordered a HDD from a well known place in Bolton, not far from me really but I chose free delivery as it wasn't need instantly but hoped it would at the latest arrive by Tuesday.

But as the picture suggests, it arrived Friday and....nothing has changed since. :p

What on earth are they doing in Middleton, is anyone working there? I want my hdd! :(
 
Nowt wrong with Yodel, I only have a problem with Hermes.

Middleton isn't far away from me...the unit is on Stakehill.

You know the drill...they don't allow collections, god knows why not?!

Other than that, there is no issue with them as a service provider :)
 
Yodel are horrendous, 4 weeks of "missed deliveries" (someone was in and no card was found 3 times) a "lost package" and numerious calls to them and the retailer in question last time we tried to get something delivered. terrible.
 
It's usually down to the driver being a complete plum or a liar.

I always put my mobile number in 'address line 2', they usually call if there's a problem.
 
Well I finally had a call off the retailer who I've sent numerous messages too (not to mention the emails to yodel themselves), basically yodel have said they cannot locate the parcel and its now down to me to fill out a form and request either a refund or replacement.

I did ask for this form to be emailed but had nothing so far so I guess she ignored that and sent it snail mail instead. :(

Some bits from a certain Rainforest website are coming tomorrow, they said they were being delivered by "HDNL", curiously I googled it, and low and behold, I went to the Yodel website. ****. :mad:

I get the feeling my package won't turn up, or may even go missing. I guess we'll see.


Edit: Arrived on time, perfect packaging. Couldn't have expected anything more. Maybe I was lucky.

Yodel: Incompetence defined.

Two separate Yodel debacles going on at the moment. One delivery and one return.

Was supposed to get a delivery of some cabinets yesterday yet had an email to say they couldnt deliver as no one in, well i was literally home all day, and the time the mystery delivery card was allegedly left i was actually in the front garden. So rescheduled for today, same thing again, tried to deliver....home all day. :rolleyes:

As for the collection, well it was apparently picked up to be sent back to Amazon at 1930 last night, and Amazon have it logged as in transit. Only problem with that is im sat looking at it right now.

How on earth does a company like this stay in business?

Had this exact issue with a broken Kindle and Amazon said as long as it showed Yodel had collected it (even though they hadn't) it was now an Amazon/Yodel issue and I could do what-ever I liked with my now "none existent" Kindle :D
 
Yodel are absolutely crap. I had to RMA a motherboard with another etailer who use them and they failed to collect my parcel 4 times on different days. They are a joke and if it wasn't for Twitter and the etailer arranging a collect plus delivery which they wanted to avoid as my board was an expensive item, I'd be absolutely livid!

Thank **** that OCUK use DPD at least they are reliable.

The Yodel driver in my area is top notch. No complaints at all here. Proper cockney who sounds like he drinks whisky and is on 40 a day... haha!
 
Gotta add my 2 cents (or pence) here.

I've ordered some items to come to my work address. Note that the building where I work has its own post code. There is even a 3-bay parking area that says DELIVERIES in nice big font. People man the reception area from 8AM to 5PM, and there is a mail sorting room next to it. UPS, Citylink, DHL, TNT, Fedex, Parcel Force and the smaller couriers don't have a problem.

For Yodel though, it goes like this:

24/10/2012 Parcel data received (Middleton)
24/10/2012 Arrived at depot (Shaw hub)
25/10/2012 Arrived at depot (Lichfield)
25/10/2012 Out for delivery
25/10/2012 Unable to locate
25/10/2012 Parcel returned to delivery depot

THE LYING BASTS!

I have sent an enquiry to them using their web form but I won't be holding my breath for a response :(
