Connery is the best actor to play the role.
Goldeneye is the best "what a bond film should be" and is Brosnan's only good one that holds out over time.
Dalton got the best scripts but didn't do enough with them.
Moore got lumped with some of the worst but made them his own.
Craig has been landed with bad writing and bad directing.
Lazenby just doesn't count
I don't think there is any real chronology. Bond is a cipher.
Dalton was only doing what Craig has done with Bond, but fans just didnt get it.
That seems a pretty accurate summation. Brosnan really got a raw deal in terms of films, with the exception of Goldeneye, which is a masterpiece. And Moore got very silly films, but was very silly with them, and it just about fit together.
Well that's what I kinda thought but in the Fleming world, he had a father with the last name Bond, so it's hard to distinguish whether it's always been one person with a singular storyline adapted to the current age, or whether it is different people with a singular identity who come and go.
Clive Owen would be a excellent Bond.
