I Really think MS have done a good job with windows 8, its something different and fresh. Instead of the same old start menu layout.

Who thinks the next Mac osx will be more like iOS ? :p I think it will...

Yeah there's lots I love about Win8, just need a few weeks to get used to where everything is.

I don't agree!

MS will hail it a massive sales success, even if a lot of people are doing like myself and just buying it for £24.99 while it's on offer *just in case*. I have no intension of stopping using Windows 7 on my games rig.

Erm. They already did that. I still maintain Snow Leopard is the best resolved OS X for the desktop. My MacBook Pro is not an iOS trinket.

Bought Windows 8 upgrade for £24.99. At 1st i was baffled, but underneath it's exactly thr same(ish) as Windows 7.

My main problems at 1st were trying to cancel a password required everytime my PC was rebooted. Also it took me ages to suss out how to put a My Computer icon onto the desktop.

Quite impressed how the only driver i've had to install is the ATI 12.11. Everything else just seemed to install itself - printer, wireless dongle, motherboard drivers etc. Very clever.

Right, that didn't go well.

Parents computer, as they get less than 1meg Internet, I decided to keep files but not anything else. I was expecting it to ask for the windows7 account password once it finished installing, however parents couldn't remeber this. Before I got back to theirs this mining the router started showing a red light. This has happened before it just loonies the Internet settings. So got phone out and got the correct settings on it. Still showing red light.
So had no choice but to go get a new router from the spawn of the devil shop, in the hope that might sort it out.

I tried using some of their common passwords and now longer have the option of was witching between local and live accounts. Is there a way to get this back?
It never showed the option to create new local account.

Back home now need some sleep, working tonight. So back there tomorrow and now I have proper Internet rather than rural mobile broadband that takes 10mins to load a page can now ask the above questions properly.
If I could just get Internet working and get the live account option back I can log into my live account get into win8 and create a new account for parents.

Wondering why I put it on so soon, there computers been playing up with 10+ min load times, not resuming from sleep etc. they've wanted me to sort it out for weeks, but been putting it off as didn't want to resonantly everything and then having to put win8 on latter. They have a slow computer so speed increase will help as well as the sync options and them less able to break it in first place.
