Windows 8 who's buying/upgrading

Played with it some more, got the desktop mode to be more like my 7 install. Really am starting to like it now but still don't feel much difference for my everyday use. Metro is nice but I feel it lacks apps that I would find useful.

The boot time is amazing though! On my laptop with a HDD, it feels almost as fast as my SSD! Glad I installed it on my laptop instead of the desktop, the touchpad helps metro feel better.

more apps will come.. win8 has only just came out yesterday...

Cant remember how I get ALL of my videos to playback/ associated in VLC automatically, anyone help?

tbh I don't understand why people are moaning about win8/Metro, MS let people try it with the win8 preview. if u didn't like Metro in win8 preview why did they still bought it... haha

As I have a Dreamspark Premium account I had chance to play with this back in August, will wait a while before thinking about upgrading to this.

my pc is having update issues! when I update it loads to a black screen and does not respond. I then have reboot enter bios exit go in to error mode? and then reboot in safe mode. Then it reverts back to a previous version. Balls

Trusted PC
To add a trusted PC to your account, you need to access your account using Internet Explorer and have Windows Live Essentials installed.

Change it to you default whilst you do that and it should work.

I jsut tried in Explorer, but again your jsut hit the confirm link and go in circles with it telling you nothing.
Just turned it off, doesnt seem to do anything.

Yea, still didnt work for me in Explorer anyways lol.
I jsut removed the message, not really sure the point of it anyways.

Right click file, open with, choose default program.

If you chose to do a clean install, can you format the drive first.

Did that, what it will do is make it the default player for THAT and that only file, you have to go into Control Panel> Programes > Default programmes
To get ALL the same file type to open to VLC or what ever programme you want.

VLC > Tools > Preferences > Set up Associations
