*** Official NBA 2012/2013 season ***

Meh, don't really see the Lakers winning it this year. Age of their stars doesn't exactly bode well for the future either

That's the beauty of following the Lakers, they reload when needed.

This group of players have 2-3 years of greatness in them, providing Howard resigns with the team.. which I expect him to do anyway.

Then what? Everyone bar Howard (if he resigns) and Nash (into his last year) is of the books, 2014/15 is the year when a whole bunch of players are FA's. Including a certain LeBron James!

Who wouldn't want to play in LA alongside a D12 at his peak. Lakers are going to have loads of $ to play with come 2014/15. Not exactly talking about the Bobcats are we :D

Lakers are the Barcelona of the Basketball world, Showtime it is! ;)

I can't see Bron up and leaving considering he already has dropped $$$ to get in on the project.

I think Lakers will suffer from the Heat problems of 10/11 in that you have no depth. Your starting 5 measure up well but then look at a series against Thunder/Heat and they have the bench advantage now.

Should be a great season though :D Lakers/Thunder for West title against Heat who can sleep walk to the East. Though I do like Celtics rooks but it won't be enough.

Season starts tomorrow night, Boston in Miami & Dallas in Los Angeles.

Kobe injured, LA should have to much for Dallas to handle.. Celtics to beat the Heat! :p

Haha :p

You never know. I expect a comfortable Heat win and a close game Lakers/Dallas but I think Dallas are a poor team these days and Lakers should edge it.

Only downside of the NBA is that the regular season doesn't matter if you are in your groove come playoffs. I remember last 2 years when the Heat have racked up large losing streaks but still ended up in the finals both years. Wish they had an NBA equivalent of the FA Cup or something to add a bit of spice during the season.

Only saps who love the regular season are those whose teams have no playoff aspirations.... So rich should live it this year :p:D:p

Is it just me looking forward to seeing Eddy Curry start for the Mavs? The guy was an offensive weapon in the paint when he was in shape and now he finally seems to have stepped up and having a great preseason run I'm hoping he can do something good.

I'm going to make my predictions after the all-star game, I need to see how my Lakers come together & to see if the Thunder do suffer as a result of Harden leaving.

Lakers, Clippers & Spurs are happy though!

Miami should be a lock for the finals, intrigued to see how the rest perform though.

Sixers have the best big man out in the East, Boston gunning for Miami & a new-look Nets.

Fun season ahead :D

Sodding hell!

The xbox app is fantastic and gives great picture quality blah blah blah but guess what?

Bloody Blackouts on TNT games! Can't watch Heat/Celtics or Lakers/Mavs via the xbox tonight.

Hilariously enough I can sit on my phone or my PC watching them from the same broadband connection but something just doesn't work on the xbox! :\

Utterly frustating - back to watching the games on the PC in tiny vision with twitter spoilers! :\

Nice win for Cav's!

As predicted (you pussies all bottled) expect a big season from Cavs with Irving/Thomson/Waiters. Expect more from Irving than tonight but Thomson was good.

Interesting start, would love to see a rook heavy Cav's do a hard PO run.

Kyrie MVP?! :p

Allen's going to be a very good pick-up for the Heat this year, outstanding shooter.

Hi guys, been a lurker for a good while finally decided to sign up. Great forum.

Anyway, NBA is back good news. Such a shame that it has been sorted with ESPN, any alternatives at all ?

My predictions:
East - Heat
West - Lakers

Conf Finals
Heat v Cavs (big season for Irving)
Lakers v OKC

Finals - Heat v OKC

Clippers do not not have enough IMO.
Rockets to be a surprise package also I think.

Poor Lakers :p

They looked shocking! Really disjointed and can't believe the fans were booing Howard all ready :p though some horrific free throw shooting again.

Heat looked really good, Allen was impressive but more importantly Wade looked great. Nice start :)

That's the thing I hate about the Lakers, the fans. They turn so easily on a player.

Not surprised, I thought they would beat a Dirk less Mavs team. Not to be!
As I said in a earlier post, I'm not going to be overly harsh on Mike Brown and the team until after the All-star break.

You have to give this team time, new system, new players & D12 coming back from major surgery (that was his first official game since April). Superstars on a team, It's not going to happen overnight. Heat weren't that great early on when they had the combo of Bosh, LeBron & Wade come together.

Heat looked great, they've been together for the best part of 2+ years now and it's showing.

Allen was outstanding I thought, Heat are going to be scary good this year. I still think bigger teams will cause them problems though, they won't be able to play small ball against the likes of the Lakers, Indiana & Sixers.

Celtics played well I thought, though I don't know what they expecting when you let the Heat score 120+ on you, they have a DEEP bench which should help keep those old guys fresh enough.
