Installed my new SSD yesterday as my games drive. I use an Agility1 for my OS which I am happy with.

The new drive doesn't feel as fast as I expected so I checked some benchmarks and I am getting slower then SATA2 speeds. I checked all the BIOS settings and nothing appears wrong and I have ensured that all the cables are correct etc and they are.

Does anyone have any ideas or anything I could try?

I'm on Windows 7 and I have just done a fresh OS install.

EDIT: Just to add I have checked the firmware and I am up to date with 1.5.2

Have you set the controller to ACHI in BIOS?

Well I believe I have. When I look in my BIOS under SATA drives it only shows my mechanical drives. I am assuming this is due to me having 2 SATA3s and 8 SATA2s on my motherboard. I guess the SATA3s are listed elsewhere. ACHI is enabled under all settings that I can see.

is it a p55 board? the marvell sata3 ports will be poor compared to modern intel sata 3 ports, you might see better results sticking it on the intel sata2 ports

It is indeed a P55 board.

I just enabled IO Boost or something in the BIOS and set it to SATA 6G and I am now seeing around 300mb Read/Write which is double what I was just getting.

Slightly annoying that I cant get around the 400 mark that I should be getting but its still a hell of a lot faster then the mechanical.

there were some later marvell controllers on some x58 boards that match the new intel sata3 for performance but the earlier ones are poor, thats the best youll see on that board which isnt bad imo but to see true rated speeds you need a sb/ib motherboard
