*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Okay a general question... I'm not flashing any roms yet, or ever.... Only using gl to sd and app2sd, and maybe a few other things on xda like the 4.2 camera panoramic option

I don't need to use this triangle program yet do I? Can I just leave all this rooting business for a few days? :P
Yeah there's lots of neat little mods you can add. At a minimum I use the loud volume hack and the app for adding non-standard apps to the multimedia bar. Be aware some of the mods/apps (app2sd?) may need a deodexed rom (you'll have to google that for an explanation). There are roms that are entirely stock, with a little deodexing/tidying done and some of the bloat removed and the root added. Nothing more.

And no, no need to touch anything especially the Triangle Away app. I'd only use that when you have to.

Not on a note, but these are the apn settings I entered on my S3. (Lost all my original apns after updating to jellybean.)

Mcc 234
Mnc 30
Everything else is not set.

thanks, going to try these.

Thanks so much for your help Fornowagain. I've achieved what I needed to - to move nova 3 (2.6GB), modern combat 3 (1.6GB), Asphalt 7(1.4GB) and gta 3 (1GB) to the sd card.

Kinda wish I didn't move GTA 3, since it runs slowly and laggy now. All the others run great once loaded - take around 5 more seconds.

I now have 8.5GB free internal space :) And my 64GB card is less lonely (30GB free with all the tv shows and pictures too).

Such a shame samsung didn't release the 32GB or 64GB ones in the UK and I have a feeling they won't since hardly anybody chooses those variants.

What can I do with all this extra internal space? It's easier to keep the pictures and videos taken stored on the micro sd, as well my music!

What's the benefit of what I've just done? Self calming by knowing I'mnot bloating up the internal memory? I barely play games on my phone either, just feels good knowing I have decent games for that rare time.

I'm looking forward to what I can do with my device now that I've rooted, although I'm guessing not much more since I can practically do everything I want, I'm thrilled with my note 2, simply the best handheld device for browsing the web+using apps+watching videos.

I used the inbuilt navigation in the car throughout the day today, and i noticed my usual car charger was not charging this as it has my previous phones.
The phone recognised it was plugged in i.e. the charging sign was on the phone, but the phone didnt get charged completely.
The strange thing is, that it didn't drain the battery either, but went down slowly. So its not providing enough power to charge by the looks of it.
Does the note2 need a more specific car charger with a bit more oomph?

I've found that when using the note 2 whilst being plugged into anything other than the wall charger, and charging is extortionately slow. It's because of the huge battery and I think the battery just takes generally a long time to charge when you're using the phone.

I'm just waiting for my extra batteries to arrive so I can keep a spare one in my bag just in case I need it.

I found that anything other than a wall charger if the screen is on ie sat nav and car charger or watching tv plugged via usb to a pc just keeps the charge even

Any way to launch Google voice / Google now instead of s voice when double tapping the home key? S voice is terrible by comparison.

Never mind, found it, install home 2 shortcut from the play store.

For me the charge was not staying even, but depleting slowly.

I bought a PAYG Grey Note 2 LTE from Orange for £500 then paid Fastgsm £12.50 to get it unlocked via IMEI code; unlock code was received by email within half an hour and worked fine. Phone was UK standard everything including plugs.

They're out of stock at the moment unfortunately :(
Did you just get it through their website? Any branding on the phone? (Probably not an issue anyway as I guess it can be flashed off)

Anyone else done this?

Where do you guys on contracts get your phone from? Dial a phone and Affordablemobiles seem the cheapest sites but im worried about buying from a place iv never heard of.

GF got hers from phones4u yesterday in store on orange panther, £36 a month, free phone, 900 mins, 1gb data.

I think you can get it for £33 from dial-a-phone and places similar but she couldn't wait for delivery:p

Makes my SGS2 feel wrong and too small after I've used it for a few mins:o

Had to get more data added to my contract, just seem to be burning through it with this thing! Don't think I use my phone any more than any other smartphone I've owned too. Something with Jellybean perhaps? Google Now?

If you go to Settings > Data usage you can look for yourself where you're using the data. My guess is google+/google now though. So yes, JB stuff.

Yeah orange panther is the one i was going to go with aswell.

for £31.50 on O2 you can get unlimited texts unlimited mins and 1gb of data and phone for free which i think is probably the best deal around at the moment?

Hmm spent 20mins trying to get through to Orange earlier, then gave up. Tried again and got through within ~5mins, then put on hold for another hour while they transfer me to sales, then I accidentally hung up :o
Kinda makes me happy I have no intention of joining them.. I thought Three were bad.

had my sgs2 from dialaphone , all done online with regular updates on status too.
whole process took no time at all, phone arrived next day too.

decided to come away from contract though this time, just got a sim free note2 from handtec.

Ah, that was sometimes happening too, when plugged into my usb ports :/
Pretty much my only gripe with the phone, not that much of a big deal since the phone does last all day under heavy use + I can just swap the battery when my extra ones come next week. I guess I can abuse charging the phone even when it's not necessary too, unlike when I had my i**** where I was worried about the longevity of the battery. :P

sounds good, we wanted hers on Orange for orange wednesdays and o2 signal isn't great round here.

Yes I ordered it from their website. No Orange branding whatsover i.e. no Orange symbol, or Orange Apps etc.

Got a Note 2 from ebay for £435, Came with a Samsung Flip case as well.
The seller said it was locked to vodaphone but my Three sim works fine with it.

Its so much faster than my old Note, and just feels better.

Had to order a new MHL wire though as the Note one wont work on this but thats only £15 from china for a 2M one.
