Good news. DC works fine and there are servers with players available
Do you have links to all the bits and pieces, not installed DC in years.

i remember all the nabs didnt bother to camp for choppers in DC because they couldnt fly them
mostly was mature gamers back then though.... i bet its different now
I would think only the mature gamers play it, all the kids moved to BF2 then BC and now BF3

It writes the key to the registry (retail version), did you maybe have an old installation at one point?
Other then that sorry no idea.

Theres only a handful of DC servers running and mostly empty, BF1942 on the other hand is rammed with servers, It will take time for DC to take off again as most have never heard of it.
Had a go of CTF earlier and I'm regaining my apache skills fast although the hind is still a fat slug

No Xpacks included but you should be able to copy the files over from your install (if you still have one). Mods should all work but you can't join servers which are setup with the paid game.
Oh hell yes! Just think of what the jungle maps would be like - the singleplayer ones in BC2 are pretty good, they would be awesome on Frostbite 2. Full sea combat would be great to have again too. It needs to be done, shame it probably won't though.

Getting cd key error as well
Found a fix!
Run Regedit. Search for "ergc"
On the right side you should see a "registry key" named default.
Double click and change whatever is in there to your BF1942 key. To find your product key, right click Battlefield 1942 in Origin, Show Game Details, and you should see your product code.

I just can't get this working, I have tried compatability modes, resolution fix, making exceptions in windows firewall and my anti virus but as soon as the splash screens ends it crashes.
