im talking about the end of seperatism, the notion of defining yourself against others. which is false because we are all equal in our birth and death. everything else is borrowed materially.

I do think one requirement for any "global star trek style utopia" is to have technology at a level in which manual jobs can all be done my machines, which in theory should happen (Becase that's kind of the purpose of technology).

I mean - think of the replicator, while it's obviously fantasy technology - if anything of that level were to be created it would totally destroy the economy, as the basic laws of supply & demand no longer apply.

Society changes in line with technology, as our technology progresses it will drag society with it (usually kicking & screaming with resistance but it will occur) - with each generation (wrongly) insisting things will never change (which has been said for the last few thousand years).

I'll end my contribution with this.
