You mean you pay only 18 for full monty 36?

Yeah, Ex employee on 'employee call' deal. 50% off. this then got changed to Friends & Family which was also 50% off. Although the new F&F members only get 40% off the monthly line rental.

Make friends with an employee. :)

Sorry slightly off topic but another example of a nokia **** up. The spec for the 820 on their website states maximum memory card size 64gb, yet the nokia chat person just said it is only 32gb. Cant they get anything right.

Just to be clear, all these SIM free units floating about Phones4U etc are locked to either EE or T-Mobile/Orange?

For the 920 most likely yes, for the 820 not so sure given it's not covered in the exclusivity contract.

There are many places to get the 820 though. This even comes with a charging shell.

Or Carphone Warehouse online, they can't really refuse your order online can they?

Yep their handsets are locked to EE, seems to be something to do with the exclusivity deal.

820 is not covered in that deal.

Going on from this (and Andy's reply) am I correct in thinking that the white, black, red and yellow simfee handsets will all accept either a tmob or orange or EE sim or are some colours only locked to EE and not the other two in the group?

Yes, but if im correct white is exclusive to EE. So you can buy the rest IF they actually allow you to buy it simfree coz as of now, some stores are only selling on contract and refuse to sell simfree

I've just come off the phone to Phones 4U and the manager agreed to sell the phone Sim Free (all the others refused me point blank).

Surprised I asked her to confirm the phone was sim free and she stated that all phones sold by Phones 4U are generic and sim free. They don't sell sim locked phones.

Again surprised I told her that this conflicts with what's been posted Phones 4U's Facebook and Twitter accounts. She confirmed again that all phones sold by Phones 4U are generic and not sim locked.

She confirmed she had black and white in stock. I've asked if it was possible that she 100% confirmed that these are sim free before I go to the store or at least before I leave the store. She has agreed and I have to call her within the hour for confirmation.

To be honest I'm not holding out any hope at all but at least she agreed to sell it sim free unlike the other greedy ****ers!!!

** Forgot to say price was confirmed as £459 and looking at the T&C of the free wireless charger, it has to be bought via Phones 4U online or instore, so should qualify for the free charger**

Interesting... Every time I have spoken to anyone at P4U I have had the same answer that all there sim free phones arent locked, but I assumed they are just poorly informed and that they haven't filtered down the correct information. Does this mean you will be buying a sim free lumia 920 sometime today and then trying a non EE/orange/tmob sim in it? If so please share the result!

This going to depend if the lady can confirm the sim free option.

My body is ready.

From Phones 4u: "Hi Brian, all stores should be offering this SIM-free and this is something that we are looking into at the moment. So that we can get this reported could you please let me know which store has refused to see you the handset SIM-Free? Thanks, Espi."

So if any deny you, go report them and speak to their manager. This was replied to me by facebook phones4u

Just had P4U ring me as well, to let me know they have black and white in stock but yellow should arrive on Monday.
