I find the serrated edge is much better at slicing into my fingers if I'm careless than it ever is at cutting the clingfilm but since I rarely use clingfilm it's not much of a problem for me.

How the hell are you using it?

I have had trouble with cheapo cling film, but I find that this is because the 'film' is more like some toughened plastic than because the teeth on the cutter are pants, not that they help.

I seem to get on all right with the Tesco cling film.

No need to keep the box with alu-foil.I bin the box and just keep the roll out. Its easy to tear in a straight line
