Intel 520 Series 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive views?

I have the 240gb version and so far it seems fast, reliable and on par with similiar current gen SSDs. The Intel SSD Toolbox software is also a nice feature, gives you all the info you need on the drive (health check etc), has error checking facility, TRIM optimisation (which can be schedueled) and a tool which checks and changes windows settings for best performance with SSDs.
That said, I think they are currently overpriced. Yes you get intel reliability, but other manufacturers are on a similiar level now and can offer better peformance too.

Is it that much faster at all though? And is it £40 more expensive faster?

520's are very good never had issues with them.....
I have read that the bigger the SSD is the faster they are (in some measures) so if you can get a bigger one
In real world performance your looking at brand preference when comparing Samsung with it, that said ive never had a Samsung

Not really, their consumer oriented drives are nothing special. Samsung or Crucial are just as good choices, if not better.
