Probably the same as what they have been showing on comedy central hd...as per the sticker.
I find the Comedy Central HD ones actually pretty good.
No idea how they do it but i tend to watch it a bit more now.

I really should stop relying on this pants phone camera for pictures though...
The ones on Comedy Central looked cropped at the top an bottom so I'm guessing these would be the same? I wish they would just touch it up and keep it 4:3.
Hi, could you let me know what the quality is like? I'd want this as a present for the parents since some of their old Friends DVD's have gone missing and i'm just wondering if it's worth getting them a BluRay player and this or just another DVD set.

Surely friends is too old to be 'digitally remastered' to a significant difference....
I've got the whole DVD set mind. Don't see the point getting the blu ray...

I dunno, the difference between the DVD and BR editions of TNG look pretty significant.

It depends how they were shot, whether it was shot on film (like Star Trek) or VHS. If it is shot on film then awesome, if on VHS then it'll be stuck at that quality. Will check it out later, but the spec is 1080p, 5.1 surround sound. lol

Totally worth it!
Not only its not "cut off" top and bottom, you see more on the sides (and bottom?!) and the quality is noticeably better, like 10 times better. The colours are more vibrant, the contrast is better and the picture is sharper.
I would do a screenshot but no BD drive on the iMac so iPhone photos would do. You just have to take my word on the quality but you can clearly see there is more to the frame than you ever realised!

To be fair, tv screen quality could be different from MacBook screen quality
