Just unplugged the sata connector from the back, first time since i put it in my pc and the part of it that hold the sata connector in place come away with the lead.

Pretty gutted but more dissapointed than anything, looks really bad quality tbh.

Anyone had any dealings with Kingston in regards to RMA, hope they fix it don't fancy reinstalling windows :(

I did this with an hdd. I managed to stick the sata cable to the drive with tape but it was a real pain. It was my own fault and not the build quality.

I can't remember where I've read this (probably some drive specs), but SATA connectors life span is relatively, and surprisingly short, like 50-70 connection cycles. I'm curious how this RMA will end up.

This drive had a connection cycle of 1 lol.

Sadly ocuk were not interested despite it obviosly being faulty, but kingston on the other hand were quite helpful and it seems like they are going to sort it out under the warranty :)

I will let you know the outcome.

They're not the strongest design, doesn't take much lateral force to snap them. I reckon they should have made all disks with that 'secure connect' design that Western Digital had. Impossible to snap them with that cable

Kingston are replacing the drive under warranty :)

There customer service was excellent, i emailed them the serial numbers and some pictures of the drive and the sata connector showing the the clip was cleanly broken and lodged in the sata connector. They sent me an emil straight back saying they would replace it for me :)

Poor showing for OCUK's cust service though :-(

I broke mine a while ago and fixed it using tape to keep the cable collected.

Really would like to know Joker, did they ask you to send the drive back first before sending you a new one?

I only have one SSD drive and would hate to be without it for a week or more.

got my brand new in box replacement, they were out of stock othwise i would have had it last week.

Communication was excellent with Kingston, great RMA process.
