GT86 Advert - Banned

Lol that you are care mad enough to check my post history.

Mission acomplished.

The S2000 is a fabulous track day car and capable of being fun within the limits of british roads and laws.

and that is all i said...driving spiritedly (but within the law)

Don't be a hypocrite :p

Is it not OK to question the regulations in general over any specific ruling? Anyone likely to be influenced by a car advert is just as likely to be influenced by a game or film ad. Should the rules not be the same across the board? The fact its 'not real life' certainly doesn't stop the GTA bashers coming out in mass every time a game is released.

The reason the rules exist is because there is a perception that it is wrong to try and sell a product by demonstrating how you can use it illegally. I don't neccesarily agree with this, but thats the reason behind the rules.

Is it wrong that the bit that annoyed me about that piece was the fact they felt the need to list the speed in km/h?

Pathetic. This has really annoyed me.

How is it Injury Layers 4 U (Innniiiittt claim some compensation whiplash brruuuuuv) adverts are all over the place like a cancer yet the GT86 advert is pulled following 2 complaints.

/Rant

I wondered what happened to that advert since it's been ages since I've seen Toyota on the telly.

Also lol at dem Asian encouraging whip lash for you adverts, I find them a disgrace myself. :D

adverts these days really do suck

no wonder I wanted a 205 when I where a nipper

2:16 onwars the ASA would be having kittens :)

It's easy to understand why the state has to have such laws in place when things like this are going on: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-20347023

It's just not on.

in fairness how many members of the motors section have a car capable of the same and a lot more?

the article makes him out to be some sort of dangerous monster, 117mph is not dangerous in itself. granted if it was pouring with rain and the road was busy then yes it could be I really do hate the utter hatred towards anyone that dares to speed in this country when will they realize there is a difference between speed and innapropriate speed.

They had to advertise because it's a new car without the recognition of a clio or st/rs and yes they probably knew they'd get banned but under the rules you can't market anything other than a polo blue motion so what choice did they have?

I suggest they finance clarkson's next divorce and we get the new segment on topgear 'star in a not unreasonably priced car'.

So if more than two people complain about this advert's ludicrous ban, will the advert get reinstated on the grounds that more people wanted it aired than whined about it? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that how a (alleged) democratic society works?
