Finally, proper PC gaming at a desk..!!

I think its a little harsh saying he has no balls. I've got an alienware laptop on the way, I've got a gaming PC but I'll be getting rid of that soon when I move in with the girlfriend. Because I have no balls? Not at all, because I don't want to game upstairs all the time. I wanna game downstairs, I wanna game in bed, I wanna game in someone else's house if I so wish to do so. I don't wanna be cooped up in a room all the time. If I feel the need to get away,I can easily pick it up and go.

Getting the wrong idea, OP is excited about being given the permission to get a desk to game on... Where as originally denied the right to. Forget the laptop!

The man wasn't allowed to game in another room even if he wanted to.

This would be a deal breaker for me, control freak girls. Not an attractive thing for me personally.

Alienware - £1.5k

Asus - £750 (normally £850)

Equal power, 50% extra power was exaggeration I admit. Prices speak for themselves, though.

I'm not a hater, I'd chose an Alienware laptop over any other if money was of no concern, because they look awesome and I don't mind spending an hour or two wiping all the **** off it. Same as if I had custom built this rig, I'd of shoveled out a few extra notes for an Alienware case, but if you don't care about looks/branding, an Asus is a better choice, every time.

You really have to be kidding... aren't you? That post is so many kinds of stupid I don't even know where to begin. You choose to spec an 18" Alienware (meant for SLI hence so expensive) with a 660M for £1500 as a comparison? You compare a GT630 in the ASUS to a high-end GPU? Epic, epic fail in so many ways. :(

But yes, your sig girl is hot.

I concur. Name?

At a guess I'd hazzard that Agnes is not married. And, judging by the latest comments, not likely to be either.

Nope and probably not not. Not if this is a taster for married life haha.

My argument is this, and I wish for OP to answer. Does your wife have any hobbies? Such as going out shopping with the girlies, or shoes, or anything of the matter?

Now, do you, in anyway, restrict her on that hobby?

If no, then that is why I simply can't fathom your marriage as a 'nice' place to be.

Congrats on the desk! Fortunately my other half prefers to watch her junk TV in peace. She knows that if come dine with me, dinner date, or any other such tosh is on the TV I can be found in the man cave :)

However that would your choice not your girlfriend making you...

When the missus moved in with me she actually moved the sofa and tv into the office because she got fed up without me. Feel quite bad about how i treated her over that but i put my foot down about gaming.

Well tbf, I know nothing about laptops and their hardware, I also have zero interest in ever owning one. I've had hundreds of people drill how useless Alienware are into my brain for years, so unless something has changed recently, I'm abit gullible. Really though, the fact you go around this forum doing nothing but disagreeing with people and then insulting them is a little worrying, and thanks.

Chelsea Vittorio aka Radeo, same girl as the last sig, shame she got so much hate with a pair of glasses and no clothes on. :p

So she sits watching TV while you sit playing games on the computer, presumably with headphones on so that she can still hear the TV.

How is that any better than sitting in different rooms? Women are nuts.

Congrats on the new desk OP! Let us know when you get those testicles. :p

Seriously though, I can't imagine my gf trying to stop me gaming at a desk just because she's not interested... It's a hobby. I'm guessing she wouldn't think you're being rude if you played football or something else you enjoyed that didn't necessarily involve her?

I am glad your sig has changed slightly Omaeko, she looked weird with the glasses on for some reason. Found your sig annoying. Looks much better now :)

The shoot used in my old sig just made her look a little butch/manly when the pictures were scaled down greatly, but still, glasses, tattoo's and a bum. :(

Ah well, tbf I'm not overly bothered about what a sig looks like, if more people like her in this one than the last, then so be it, sigs aren't usually for the posters benefit. :p

Ahh don't get get your e-knickers in a twist, I only mildly insult people who talk rubbish, and you happened to be doing so at that moment in time about a subject you admit to knowing nothing about. And you're welcome. :D

Hang on there chaps... I've not got all the bits yet to get the new desk up and running..

Screen, chair, keyboard and are with me but the rest isn't yet so once I've got it all up and running will post a pic seeing as its now been built up so much..

As for having no balls, maybe but those who aren't married or live with their gf, enjoy it whilst you can, trust me once kids and tv get in the way, PC gaming becomes a lot harder to enjoy, so a simple pleasure like a desk just means so much more...

Once i dreamed of triple screen desktop gaming, now I dream of having a corner I plonk a desk and a screen with a laptop with enough power to work with recent games.. how times change, trust me i do fight my corner but sometimes well, you just shut up otherwise you'd get nothing and thats not the best way..

I'm happy enough...

I have 2 young kids and a wife and I have my desktop pc, 360, ps3 and desk in the corner of the lounge/dining room, the only change I have made is playing games with subtitles and no sound for most of the time. My wife sits and watches TV or works in the evening and I game, we natter away to each and do our thing. It works really well. If a game needs sound I use headphones and I also have logitech dts/5.1 speaker system for the consoles and when i'm home alone the volume can be cranked up.

It also means my kids can play games with me or if they are doing stuff on the computer we can monitor it all the time. Gaming is part of life now and hiding it away in another room is long gone and anyways the kids need bedrooms too so no room for a study unless i buy a bigger house.

It's funny what people give up for the ones they love yet may make them unhappy rather than explaining what you need for you as much as them. Don't give up friends/hobbies or interests just because someone else wants you to or to make them happy, you need to be happy as well.
