A GTX 680 question

How much of an FPS increase would I see with a msi gtx 680 - 4GB
over a msi gtx 680 - 2GB ?

That depends on what resolution you play at,but you won't see much benefit unless you have a multi monitor setup.

Probably a minus fps as the 4GB has looser memory timings.

Only really going to see the benefit of 4GB over 2GB with tri-SLI and triple monitors.

Games are GPU/bus limited and as such have low FPS before the amount of VRAM comes into it.

So no FPS benefit on a single monitor ?
I thought more vram meant more fps in games.
I took the 4GB as meaning double the performance.

It works the same as your computers memory. If you add more memory, it doesn't increase performance and if you are a serious overclocker, it makes it harder to reach top overclocks.

Would 2 msi 680 lightnings be worth the money ?
Or would I be better off with 2 msi 680 twin frozrs ?

One is fine for 1080P

One would be enough for 1080p. Might want to consider a 7970 though, as that's faster in most games.

Within the magic 5% which effectively means even at a margin of error.

I would rather go with nvidia because of the better drivers and its mostly for Arma 3 and arma games seem better with nvidia cards.
The amd hd 7970 has tempted me though.

It all depends on a few factors, stock or overclocked, reference speeds or factory overclocked, ghz edition and of course which games your playing

Are the lightnings worth the extra money , because if not there is a nice SDD i can be buying for this build.
But that said if the 680 lightning is worth it , I will save for that SDD later.

Could someone take out the spot light and put the "I require Stulids assistance symbol on it"

It doesn't matter what size monitor it is, it is the resoloution that matters. I run 3*27" monitors (all 1080P) with 2*MSI Lightning 680s and they are sweet as.

I think you need to do some reasearch, as don't take this the wrong way but you seem pretty clueless when it comes to what you need. You could spend a lot of money on something that will be no better than something far cheaper.
