I'm thinking about buying a WDTV. Can it read files from an NTFS formatted external HDD? Or must it be FAT32 formatted?

I rarely play media files larger than 1GB or so, it was more for the storage.

I got my WDTV Live delivered today, its compiling the media livrary atm
but it looks nice, my boxee box was a waste of money remote died so got this.

Great little boxes, used it with my old TV, oddly now, my samsung TV does virtually everything directly which is great, the wdtv has been relegated to another room.

I have one of the second model, the WDTV Live and it's brilliant for most things but for some reason I just could not get it to play a stream from my upnp media server for more than about 2 mins before it crashed. I tried everything I could think of and nothing fixed it so I went back to my trusty old xbox running XBMC and that wortked perfectly straight away...

WDTV ordered. Can't wait for it to arrive. Think I'll buy a 2 bay Synology NAS to go with it as well.
