ArthurFowler!! :@ 42 In a 30mph Zone!

Feel for you. Seems understandable to do that speed on that stretch of road if the conditions you stated are true.

Generic Comment:

You deserve to die. :)

Real men go so fast that the license plate on the camera is a blur. If passing dogs, children and the elderly get sucked in as you're going past then you know you're going fast enough.

Driving to the conditions instead of the speed limit, in my experience, not only proves to be more sensible. But also forces your to be much more aware of your surroundings and less likely to drift into your own world.

Que disagreement.

Except that driving "to the conditions" has netted you a fine 3points and an increased insurance premium for a few years. Not very sensible really :)

You're trying to defend how its ok to break the speed limit. So long as its not 'dangerous' the op is pretty pathetic for starting this topic anyway.

Not saying he's not a fool for getting caught, and personally I wouldn't to brag about it myself...

What I was pointing out is that the people having a go at him for being a childkiller (or anything along those lines) seriously need a better understanding of speed safety before automatically condemning him.

And you need a better understanding of sarcasm.

Just so were clear; I am not bragging about this.

Just because I choose to put this on here does not automatically mean Im proud of it! I realise that speeding is a serious thing but please dont assume im a typical grade a see you next tuesday.

I choose to post this because this is a forum. A forum for all sorts of conversation. I will stand here and take all abuse that comes with this, but, i am not proud or bragging about this.

That's the problem though. People do things and if its wrong they don't want to get caught because they know its wrong. Anyone with half a brain would think, right I've been caught, I've been punished I won't do it again. But some do. Speed safety is all fine AMD well but the over riding factor there is the national speed limit imposed on different areas. I'm sure you'll find that quite a few of the child killer comments were made in response to the ops invitation to condemn his idiocy.

Just an attention seeking who're then?

I never said he wasn't over the legal speed limit, he admitted he was. What I'm saying is that it is perfectly possible that it wasn't dangerous.

That's irrelevant though. They set a speed limit, and he broke it. Thus he needs to be punished accordingly. As he has with a fine.

It's all very well and fine until he does it somewhere and somebody actually gets hurt, or himself - speed limits are there for a reason. They're very rarely arbitrary no matter what motorists like to claim.

And as for him seemingly not giving a toss about it, I think it's just a reflection on his very loose morality and obvious need for attention.

OP; Grow up. Your username clearly shows your maturity, or lack thereof.

It doesnt really help that you've gone from a 50mph into a 40mph limit not far up the road and you were still over that limit, oops. Then not slowing for the 30mph just takes the pee a bit I guess.

I know the road well though and it doesn't really need to be 30mph until a bit further up IMO but we don't get to decide that. I whizz through that bit at faster than 30mph on my road bike! pedal, pedal, pedal.

Least you know where to keep an eye out for a van now though, that's a bonus.
