Hitman Absolution Pre-Order.

It is just so dissapointing that the staples of a Hitman game have been removed and in my opinion it is clear to see they have stolen/used mechanics from a plethora of other titles.
You are entitled to you're opinion but again you're incredibly vague about what you are saying? what staples of a Hitman game are missing? what mechanics have been stolen? explain what you mean instead of saying things like the game is the ******* son of AC or SC:C, when people complain with no foundation it's just trolling if you give reasons it could be said to be criticism.

What settings are people using?

I am trying the benchmark and adjusting the presets between ultra, high and medium seems to be making little difference to either the image quality or the performance. I am using an i7 920@ 4GHz and a 7970 @ 1185/ 1625 on latest beta's.

I have turned msaa off and everything else at lowest and I get:

min: 46.0
max: 146.0
average: 71.65

on ultra I get:

min: 39.62
max: 130.35
average: 57.98

Do those scores not all seem a bit too close together? I mean, a 7970 with a fairly decent overclock on a quad core, hyperthreaded cpu (albeit getting a bit long in the tooth) getting minimums of 46 fps at lowest settings???

This games weird performance wise, In a police station with a couple of desks and cops my fps drops to 40 which is odd yet outside with more npcs, objects it doesn't drop below 60. Weird.

Yes, I posted about this. Have only really messed about with the benchmark and had a play through the tutorial mission, but I don't believe this game is performing all that well. Everything keeps at a fairly steady 60, then I get to the tennis court and look around and it dives into the 40's.

Yea, I can live with it kind of, but 40 frames feels like 20 fps to me in this game cause of it being so smooth up until these random points :(

Hi everyone,

Quick question about contracts, are you meant to get money any time someone has a go at one of your contracts?

If any one would like a go of one i made, its called "Get out of my corn" you dress up as a chipmunk and kill 3 peeps with a selected weapon big payout if you do it matching the conditions.

If you do let me know what you think!

nice one

I am just starting the mission in Dexter industries. I am really enjoying the game.

I thought both parts of the mission in Hope were very good.

Edit- going though the mines is the first mission where I have shot everything up.... and I didn't mind as it fit in with the narrative fairly well.

So far I think it looks amazing. Not only purely graphically, but the sleek styling too.

It's cool, it's funny, and the gunplay is awesome.
I'm doing my very best to play within the spirit, trying to have zero interaction with unnecessary characters, not be seen, no guns, only kill the target etc, but when I get it wrong it's great fun to have a human shield gunfight before restarting the checkpoint :D

I'm currently stuck :( (playing on hard)
I'm on the train station level, no change of clothes yet. I can make it from the lift, out of the building and through the platform to the control room. Restart the signals fine.
Then getting from there to platform B is impossible. Must have tried ten times and I'm getting a bit frustrated and a bit bored :(
Really feels like there should be a checkpoint at the railway signals bit.

Any tips? I did resort to looking for a YouTube walk through, but they all seem to be on lower difficulties...

Think there is a checkpoint at the signals on Normal from what I recall, so I guess there isn't one on hard to make it err harder! :)

How slow are you going? Even on Normal I took it very slow, used the crowds and the various obstacles to block the cops view and only move when they are looking away. There should be a few hide locations like games etc you can use.

If you stop inside the crowd it makes the yellow arrows disappear until you start moving again

Yep, been doing that, that's how it's possible to get as far as the signals box without issue.

I've got there now anyway. I had to break my play style a bit but it's not the end of the world.
Took out the cop who's on his own when you go through the door on the left as you exit the lift.

Pinched his uniform and using that little bit of instinct getting from the signal box to the platform made all the difference.

Once you're down onto platform B the crowd is really dense and it's a doddle from there.

:)

Yeah the orphanage was a bloodbath, I'll go back and stealth it though, I've been doing the Chinatown/vixen club over and over trying to get some points, it gets addictive playing against that score counter!
