As per title thread, can I partition an SSD in order to dual boot W7/W8?

Will the different file systems cause any conflicts with the ssd?

Thanks for the replies.

:)

They are both NTFS are they not?

Afaik, Windows 8 has a modified NTFS file system.

I already have W8 on Corsair Force 3 with W7 on a M4.

Within W8 both drives are accessible, but in W7, the Force 3 with W8 doesn't show up.

It only shows up in W7 through disk management within computer management similar to a blank HD.

yeah of course!! Go to your disk management on Win7 and shrink your C: volume and then create new "simple" volume and install win 8 on that partition!!

I know how to do it richthomuk. :)

Just wanting to save myself the hassle of creating partitions>cloning(if it can be done) or a new W8 install for it not to work.

Cool :) Yeah can't see why it wouldn't work and I know afew ppl that have that dual boot set up already.

I'm just coding this into our software it updates the BCD as well so that it works correctly without any issues, Vista was a right PITA to get to work correctly!
