It takes a while for the confirmation code to come through. I remember waiting about 30 minutes before mine was in my inbox. Not sure why it is so slow.

Every single time I've done it it's been virtually instant.

I think I may have to sabotage my own pc and phone so I cannot participate in the Xmas steam sale!!
I'm hoping I've bought most things that intrest me now though.....

One solution is to go into options and change your default screen on opening Steam to your Library instead of the Store, that way you don't see all the lovely sales.

@above - I'd read the thread first to make sure you pick the right options or you may get the version that is too big and breaks the forums signature rules.
