Call of Duty: Black Ops II

I'm really struggling, killing 1 perhaps for 10 deaths lol. What with not knowing the maps, not being used to the game and not being used to a pad for a fps i am truely awful :(.
 
can somebody explain to me how prestiging works ?

I thought you could only choose 1 item to unlock for your prestige. But i'm looking at somebody who'se on prestige 2 on elite, but he has both Ghost and the AN94

and he also has 2 extra custom class slots. I thought you could chose 1 unlock tocken or a custom class slot ?

Also, if you unlock something with the token, does that then unlock it for all future prestiges too, meaning on 2nd prestige you can chose something else and have both ?

Each time you prestige, you can choose to take a new class slot or reset your stats. In addition, once you reach level 10 again you can unlock 1 item of your choice permanently.

I'm also 2nd prestige, I took 2 class slots, ghost and AN94 too. They make the most sense to unlock because (especially ghost) they're very good and also very late to unlock naturally. And yeah, it unlocks it permanently, for all future prestiges :) now i've got ghost on all my classes i'm doing much better

My favourite gun right now is the Tac-45. Up to a range of 35metres it kills faster than the SMGs (providing you have a decent trigger finger) so you can absolutely murder people with it. I'm running it in a pistol-only class with fast mag and laser sight, ghost & lightweight, dexterity & extreme conditioning. Went 46-16 in Kill Confirmed today and 35-7 in a game of TDM, only using the pistol lol. I've had 3 people message accusing me of using a modded controller haha.

I wanna get it in diamond :D :D

But that means I have to use the executioner too............... :(

Ah that makes sense then. May have to prestige this game, never bothered before.

it's not essential... cos a lot of the stuff is rubbish and not worth unlocking, so if you spend your tokens right you can have all the worthwhile stuff without prestiging at all.

for example the executioner, assault shield, ballistic knife, crossbow, SMR (imo, the fire-rate cap ruins this gun), vektor, hard wired, M1216, S12, all the LMGs, XPR-50 and the sensor grenade are all either useless, or sufficiently outclassed by other available weapons as to be not worth unlocking. the executioner especially is the worst gun i think i've ever used in a cod game except the silenced AA12 in MW3

obviously it's nicer to have everything, so you can make trolling diamond-encrusted assault shield classes lol, but the above is what i'd cut if i couldn't be arsed prestiging. (you may not have to cut it all, i'm not sure how many items there are in total). also some of the scorestreaks are kinda meh.
 
Just unlocked the FAL. Still as satisfying to use as it was in MW2 and Black Ops!

Quite enjoying this game, I've found that I tend to go beast mode with the 870MCS shottie on Yemen.
 
What's the best stuff to unlock early on? I don't particularly get on with the default classes weapons and would like to do my own loadout.
 
Best AR at low rank has to be the Type 25.
Best SMG is the PDW or MSMC a bit later on.
Best LMG is the LSAT, use the default Heavy Gunner class to start ranking it up.
 
I'm usually an SMG man so will prob go for the PDW then. Although will take me a while to unlock enough stuff to have a full loadout. Thanks.
 
Lol I used my first unlock on bouncing betties. I just can't live without them :)

Ghost would be a waste of time for me because I don't move around constantly.
