Have you tried turning it on mine came pretty much charged from the box ?

No idea I have not actually turned mine off since I got it. I just plug it in and leave it on or in standby...
 
I have the non 3G version, and it behaves exactly like yours.

If it is turned on you (while it is on charge) can touch the on/off button and it will show if it is fully charged or not, and if not the % charge.

It should only take about 3 hours to fully charge though.

You say that you have just got it... can I ask when you actually ordered it, please?

Standard Nexus charging behaviour is to see a default charging icon appear for a few seconds, then vanish to be replaced by an animated charging icon showing current level for a few seconds. This then disappears too. You can get it back by pressing power. Long pressing power turns the device on (although tbf I think most people have got that bit) :D
 
It looks as if the Google Play Store have sold out of the 3G version of these again, so I hope that everyone who wanted one managed to get their order placed in time!

I have been advised that mine should now be in the hands of their despatch couriers, but I am still awaiting an email containing a TNT tracking number!

EDIT: Now says "Ships in 1-2 weeks".... so should be well in time for Christmas still! ;)

If anyone who ordered one from Google over the weekend, and has now received a despatched email, please not that you have to select Reference Number, and NOT the default Tracking Number box, in order to display the tracking information.

Hopefully you will then see that your package is out with TNT for delivery today... mine is! :)
 
My 3g just arrived from TNT - pleasantly surprised after reading about the issues other are having. Think its great so far.

Now just got to find the must-have apps for it....

Presumably it is not essential for a SIM card to be inserted before it is first switched on... or is it better to do this?

Nope - just set mine up without one until I get a chance to pop to town. I think you can configure in Settings when it should use 3G / wifi
 
What is with Google and their inability to sell accessories alongside new hardware? I think the Galaxy Nexus dock took ages to come out too. It's crazy, a totally missed opportunity.
 
Hmmmm strange - just checked mine and after the 4.2 update connected to a HomeHub its 65Mbps.

Are you running 4.2? Tried a reset?
