Call of Duty: Black Ops II

So apparently Vahn was talking out of his backside when he said matchmaking was based on latency and ping. It's also apparently also based on skill and people's Score Per Minute(SPM). This is apparently to stop good players getting put with bad players.
Say your SPM is 200.
The game finds 2 lobbies:
Lobby A - ping 25ms and SPM 150.
Lobby b - ping 75ms and spm 225
Because your SPM is 200 then you will get put into lobby B.

I should point out that this is just something i've taken from the COD forums.

If it's true then i'm really quite ****** off about it. Latency/ping should ALWAYS take priority when matchmaking.

I've read that elsewhere as well. I thought skill based matchmaking was only for league play..........Not really fussed if it is based like that on normal matchmaking, but if that's the reason for the crap then it needs removing.
 
Not sure about that, matchmaking is there to try and balance the game so you play with people at your level.

But I don't see any evidence of what you posted anyway.

Match making should base lobbies on ping. Especially in this game as there is a playlist for proper competitive gaming.
Apart from anything else,when this game came out Vahn said that they had changed it so players were matched up based on ping and latency. But this may not be the case now.

It can't work very well then; most lobbies I see include whole ranges of players from<lvl 10 in up to Prestiged lvl 55s for example. No way can they be very equal in skill!

It's not about prestige level though going by what was posted above, its based on your SPM.

But just because they are a higher prestige level doesn't mean they wont have the same SPM/KDR as people from a lower prestige.

Nope, earlies. I had a game yesterday and got really annoyed with the stupid one burst kill pistol and being hip sprayed from a mile away, so decided i'd had enough for the day.

Surprised people are complaining so much about the spawn system. For me
Mw3 was wayyyyy worse.

Really? I've never actually seen people spawn right in front of me like i have on this. Also i've seen it spawn people in the same place they get insta killed like 4 times in a row.

Happened to me many times especially on Hijacked. But also been on the benefit side of killing the same person 3 or 4 times in the same area of the map. Pros and Cons.

It happens occasionally, but in mw3 I was forever respawning for someone to shoot me in the back, or spawning under a predator missile/grenade spam/claymore.

:D Fair enough, I turned it on for a total of 3 games last night and raged about 20 seconds into the third one, that was enough for me.

Surprised people are complaining so much about the spawn system. For me
Mw3 was wayyyyy worse.

Don't get me wrong I moaned about MW3 a lot when it was released but this game is just taking the ****.
I really can't get over how much they messed up with it, bad maps, bad spaws and lag comp, such a shame considering Black Ops for me was the best CoD there has been since CoD4. :(

In MW3 they had a few seconds where you wouldn't get killed by a predator/grenade/claymore so never effected me.

Unlike Blops 2 where you can die instantly from lightning strikes and what not.
 
Indeed spawning in Lightning strikes and hellstorm missiles not great! Surprised flak jacket doesn't counter LS in the way they countered napalm in BLOPS1. Maybe not realistic but just label it "future tech"! :)
 
Ok some really weird games tonight. One minute I unload a clip into a guy who doesn't die, next unloading a clip and no hit markers. Other maps its extremely quiet and I'm trying to hunt for people to kill and find they are all camping.
 
Nothing but insta-deaths and firing entire clips without getting a single hit marker!

I just don't get what is wrong with this game. Everything on my end is fine, I've checked... many, many times. But, for the life of me, I just can't get a decent connection. If I go back to MW3 everything's fine. Hit detection is consistent, I can actually kill people without using half a clip minimum to do it... I swear, if it wasn't for the fact that so many of my friends play it, Black Ops II would be the first game I've ever traded in.
 
Total BS I knew I was going to lose a gunfight before it even started empty a clip into someone and he spins round and nails me in three bullets.

I've gotta say there have been many occasions I've fired a whole clip into someone without straying away from them, no hits registered, for them to kill me with a couple of bullets. As Dr Mcninja says, go back to MW3, no issue.
