just had a prang - god damn it

Van could probably do with a new bumper. The Almera? If that's chassis damage affecting the boot... well, I'd be very surprised.

It's not even an Almera, it's a Sunny. The chances are the insurance company will write it off (even if it does only have fairly minor damage). It's basically worthless as is.

yep, correction the car is a nissan sunny.

Probably worth a few hundred quid, no doubt there necks will feel sore tomorrow just to make up for it.

O well.

Bloody hard luck to you. It's a bit of a shame the Nissan people are acting a bit arsey and the van driver was sound! Guessing the van was the most valuable vehicle involved too?!
Yes you made a balls up, but everybody makes them whether they are in a car or not so I'd just take it on the chin and see how you get on.
Good luck to you. :)

Just had an email from admiral saying the following, bear in mind this policy ends in the middle of january.

We have amended the occupation on your policy due to the information provided
by our claims department. There is an additional premium of £28.44. This will
be debited from the payment details we hold on file for you within the next
ten days.

When I mentioned on the phone I was an administrator the bloke said ok, we didn't have anything on record.

I've just looked at my paperwork and it had my job down as a computer operator.

How the hell can a premium go up £28.44 from "Computer operator to Administrator" when I do the same bloody thing.

I feel like im getting raped here.

yer supposedly chassis damage from less than 5mph

the front of the van that supposedly caused So much damage to the nissan.

** Personal attacks won't be tolerated under any circumstances *** she got this assessment within 20minutes of driving off, yet said she would get it inspected the following day. Supposedly disabled and shaken up and yet I moved the car for her and she walked around fine.

It's aload of ****

You don't have to be a vehicle inspector to see this is a 24ct micky take.

Calm down, Sandy Vagina. :p

I hope all works out as best as it possibly can. When I caused a 4-car smash, everything went absurdly smoothly (apart from my insurance payout being retarded). Nobody even went for whippy compo.

NOM8

You hit someone so hard in the back, that they themselves moved forward to the point where they hit someone.

Update :

For the bumper. On that van admiral say the claim for him is £800 hahaha

He's had a 62plate transporter ( rental) for a good week now as he doesn't live that far away from me so I go past his house nearly every day to work.

Admiral claims chap told me the van driver told him he intended on making a medical injury claim, so admiral paid him off not to proceed. Apparently it wasn't a massive pay off.

How can an insurance company just pay someone to not proceed with making whiplash claim without getting facts from experts first.

Makes a mockery of the system, o and apparently the women of that Nissan is making a claim as well. The £800 for the van is just the repair costs only and not including any amount he got to not do the injury claim.

Whoever the garage is repairing the van is laughing there head off

A friend of mine made a claim due to a car accident, they were talking about the hire car and she mentioned she didn't go to the gym for two days because she didn't have a car and her shoulder was a bit stiff anyway but had been back to the gym everyday since... They made a payment almost straightaway for £750!

Because their claim is likely to succeed and it'll cost admiral more, so they pay it off and make it go away.

wrt the damage to the van though, you hit it hard enough to push it into another car.. just because you can't see any damage other than the bumper then it doesn't mean that there isn't any. Bumpers tend to pop back out after being squashed.

(garages do inflate repair costs when they know that it's insurance work though, I discovered that went I took my car to a bodyshop to have some work done to sort a caved in door. They gave me £lol quotes, so I laughed at them - they remarked that it didn't matter if the 3rd party was picking the tab up - once I let them know it wasn't an insurance job they readjusted the prices so as not to scare me off!)

A whiplash claim should be automatically voided for someone who didn't have their handbrake on at least!

My car weighs over 2 tonnes, if i had of hit that van hard trust me he would have known about it. He must have been quite close to that nissan and tapped her. So its a joke and why i bother trying to state the obvious on here i have no idea.

The insurance companies moan about injury claims etc but there the onee who seem to make it so easy to do so.

He hit it hard enough.. with the van's brakes off. If you nudge a car with the brakes off it will move. Hell, if a fat guy were to run at it, I reckon he could get a bit of impulse. If there's little resistance to motion then the car will move. The alternative is metal parts start collapsing, and they are really quite strong.
