When you disable DHCP you'll need to manually set your IP address, gateway and subnet (not sure if you know this, if you do then you've obviously done that :p).

Added Soulja, Windle and RRRRodga to friends list, can't find Metalfacemark for some reason. Mine is Zarasi if anyone wants to add me.

I tried the fifa demo, plays pretty well although i cannot get to grips with the buttons where they are below the second thumbstick. I like the layout of the main controller when you are twin sticking and not using buttons its very comfortable, feeling down for the buttons though is a bit unnatural I feel although im sure it will just take time to get used to.

Yeah I know what you mean, it'll just take some getting used too but I really wish these days controllers were standardised across all platforms in regards to analogue stick and button placement.

On the Wii U it's self?

I'd done that still no joy connects to the network but not the net.

I'm not sure, mine doesn't even connect to the network as DHCP is off until I manually assign the console an IP. Maybe something you have turned on via the router is blocking it access to the internet?. Just a general overview of my settings... on my router I have DHCP turned off. Wii U is then set to 192.168.0.101, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.1. Then I have the DNS servers set to what I wrote above. With that, it connects immediately. PC has the same settings including the DNS servers but it's IP is .100 rather than .101.

Had my first lockup earlier, bad times. Had to hard reset it :(

Was only playing about with YouTube app as well

It's probably just that app, when I tried it earlier it seemed very clunky and half arsed.

Cannot connect using the virgin media superhub here. Have tried all above settings on the wii u and the turning of dhcp on the superhub menu. Nothing is working :(

ok superhub now in modem mode and plugged into my older netgear router. connected instantly with no setup required! Thanks roddypoddy! I have the worst headache and angriest fiance at doing this tonight as we both have work at 830 lol

Is it just my old eyes or was NSMBU made for the Wii then ported to the Wii U? A 2d platformer on a brand new console really shouldn't be this blocky...

Update: I've had another 90 minutes on it and it's really growing on me. It's blocky in places (namely the map screen) but mostly it's quite beautiful. I was perhaps a little harsh. It's also very good at punishing you for rushing through sections to get back to where you died previously. Liking it a lot!

I knew the Wii U CPU wasn't fast, but I'm shocked at how slow it apparently is, 1.25GHz

Xbox 360's CPU runs at 3.2GHz, no matter how efficient the Wii U CPU could possibly be, it's still got to make up for a lot of clock speed.

Doesn't work like that.....you can't just compare clock to clock on different architectures, it has loads more cache and EDRAM, the WiiU also has a GPGPU that can offload some stuff from the CPU as well as an Audio DSP which takes care of audio, in a lot of games a whole core is used up on other consoles just to process the audio, the WiiU can do it purely with the DSP.
