Far Cry 3 Thread

Am i retarded? I go and look for pigs to skin for a bigger wallet.. set point on 2 pig spots on the map but none to be found..

No but due to all the vegetation animals can be pretty darn hard to see unless you standing close. There are some syringes you can craft that lets you spot animals MUCH much easier from long distances due to their body odor

Only problems i have had are freezes in the trial thingy, bit annoying.

Also Multiplayer is broken atm, dont really care though.

Overrall I wish when you freed a part of the island, it still had enemies in it :(, sucks driving around with only civilians and blue guys, ugh.

I WANT TO KILL PEOPLE, guess ill just leave outposts alone.

Awful first impressions

1) SLI 2nd GPU not loading hence crappy framerates
2) Constant crashing on Campaign
3) UPlay servers are not available for MP
4) There doesn't seem to be a resume when I am in the game menu and I keep exiting to desktop due to it.

To get the SLI scaling working properly do the following:

  • Add farcry3_d3d11.exe into the profile in Nvidia Inspector
  • Change the SLI bits for DX11 to 0x0C1902F5
That'll sort it.

This game is a bit tarded in some ways I think. Just got on a random boat looking for sharks.

Had some of the tattoo guys on it that greet me with a nice ''How are you bother?''

I take the wheel and the jump off to their dead in the motor..

I am enjoying it so far even with the minor bugs. I suspect that my 560 Ti is bottle necked by my dual core CPU. I am getting between 35 to 60fps with dx9 on high settings which I am happy with.

Anyone else think that the sound quality is poor plus its daft that there is no separate music volume control, I may just have to turn it off altogether.

download from uplay failed around 8-9 times for me, when it did complete the install failed the crc check, verified the files but that didnt help either.

So done the same as I did with assassins creed 3, downloaded the files from "elsewhere" and just installed as normal thru uplay. No problems at all, played thru the first 10 minutes or so and all seems fine so far, will give it a proper play tonight :)

Only issue I am having is screen tearing.

Even with vsync set to 2 frames, it's still pretty bad.

On a 60hz IPS panel, but tearing isn't this bad on other games :/

Took me a while but I've finally been able to enjoy the game.

Kept crashing at either first start up, loading screen, or in the initial intro. Actually turned out of be my overclock. Put everything back to stock on my card (GB 7950 WF3) and it run sweet as a nut. Weird because I played Crysis 2 for an hour last night and it was stable as a stable thing, sitting under 50deg the whole time. Even on stock though it still breezes Ultra at 1080p (no AA). Haven't checked frames yet but at a guess I'd say 50-60fps, if not more.

Next issue I had was the pocksee Ubi servers being down, which meant everytime you went into the menu it would fail to connect, then when you try and go back to the game it's like all the rendered surroundings all disappear and you're just left with what I assume is a distant background image. Just figured out though (as said above) that playing in offline mode fixes this problem.

Only done the radio tower and first camp so far, but game looks gorgeous and I do think I'm going to enjoy it when these few issues are ironed out. Lets hope the devs are slaving away now to get it fixed.

Tried the game last nite on my GTX460 on high with 1900 X 1200 res, no tearing at all beautiful graphics, quite surprised for a 2 year old card. running on I5 2500k with 4gb of ram. please note these are using the beta drivers from nvidia to run planetside 2, this is also on DX11.

going to tweak the game see how it compares to Ultra i'm sure there will be some massive frame drop as the GPU will bottleneck from only the 1gb ram.

Is there anyway to get this activated over steam other than getting the game gifted to you? I prob won't get the game if there's no option for a steam overly to chat with friends.

Ubisoft were on to something when they said 90% of PC gamers pirate, because if the game on release is like this (broken) then why should people spend their money playing games which are unplayable.

Unfortunately not, no. Getting it gifted to you for the Steam features is pointless as it doesn't actually work (at the moment at least). Launching Far Cry 3 within Steam doesn't change your status to in game and disables the Steam overlay. I'd imagine it's due to it not actually being on the UK store, so Steam doesn't recognise it.

It's easier (and cheaper) to buy it elsewhere and add it in as a non-Steam game if you want the overlay.

Actually same for me!

So after you submitted the order, you've had no email at all ? Does your code still work if you try to place another order because mine doesn't which makes me think the system did get part way through the order process. UBI are terrible at customer service if this is the best they can do.
