Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1 - 3rd December 2012]

So methinks hes finally lost the plot but Arsenal wont push him because hes making us profitable, which isnt a bad thing but at the expense of winning trophies or titles

To point out, Wenger despite what the press like to harp on about had almost exactly nothing to do with the new stadium. They asked the current manager what kind of dressing room setup he wants, and space around the pitch and stuff... who wouldn't. He didn't pay for it, fund it, has zero involvement in the property development which made it possible and its the fans income from the new stadium making Arsenal profitable.

If Wenger hadn't spent £143mil on wages last season, for a squad that beat a sub £90mil squad by a single point, Arsenal would have made £50mil MORE profit WITHOUT Wenger.

Wenger has smeg all to do with the profits, UTD and Arsenal bring in around 100mil a year match day revenue, most of the nearest teams are on 50mil or so, and half the teams in the league are doing sub 40mil match day income.

Arsenal with a 60k seater stadium with the highest prices in England would make a killing coming in 16th(and not still spending £143 god damned million on wages).

AS for lost it, I'll pinpoint it for you, he's never recovered from the 49 game unbeaten run, or the loss to Utd, never. His ENTIRE outlook on the team changed that day, we play a different football, buy a different type of player, and the mentality that led to getting draws from bad performances to go a season unbeaten was lost because Wenger lost the confidence/mentality, and when he lost it he couldn't instill that mentality in the team.

I said in one of the other threads recently, he needs FIRING, if he ends up in the board room or some director role he'll continue pushing all the bad decisions above any new manager making a new manager useless(besides being able to sort out a defence maybe).

Arshavin is probably our best technical player, best passer, best crosser, most creative and most capable of unlocking a defence, and he defends more than Gervinho, yet he's not even on the bench. WTF is wrong with Wenger, Chamakh, I don't think he's brilliant, but after that performance against Reading he deserved some game time, but no Wenger again goes back to Gervinho who is cack, Walcott who might get you a goal, but is utterly useless for the other 89 minutes.

I'll take boring and winning over being Sheffield Wednesday this season :(

Cardiff are going to destroy us tomorrow.

Oh no, they're 8th and still in the CL

A serious question, has a team that spends over £120mil in a season ever come lower than 6th(and if it wasn't for Chelsea last year and AVB's (anti)magic, I could have said 4th :p ).

We won't be in the CL for long either, haven't we got either Dortmund or Real in the next round....... Dortmund WILL rip us a new one, Real, this season could just put in a stinker, but will still beat us, just might not rip us a new one.

Man Utd: Lindegaard, Da Silva, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Fletcher, Anderson, Carrick, Young, Rooney, van Persie. Subs: De Gea, Jones, Giggs, Smalling, Hernandez, Welbeck, Cleverley.

Good to see Scholes and Giggs....not playing.

Young needs a good game, he's fighting with Welbeck for who can be the most utterly useless player in our team at the moment.

wow- spurs are equal on points with third (4th on goal difference) and only 7 points off the top.
