*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Anyone able to help me? I'm trying to root my Note II, but Odin won't turn the ID:COM yellow in download mode. The drivers installed fine, and it shows up yellow when booted normally, but it won't when in download mode. Any ideas?

Formatted my 64GB card to fat32 and flashed Note2Core OC kernel, so CPU is now @ 1.8Ghz.

Think I've finally found a rom/theme/kernel I'm happy to stick with... until we get Android 4.2. :)

Sorted, all the how to sites were wrong. They were saying Volume up + home + power. It's actually volume down + home + power.
It always been volume down for download mode, sounds like you were getting your download and recovery modes confused. Or maybe its the bit where they added the volume up press to confirm when in the Warning Page of the download Mode.

Im going to give nova launcher a try. Just to confirm...if i dont like it i can just straight uninstall it from the applications and it will go back to the default one without losing any apps or anything?

Go to options, manage apps, then nova launcher, then press clear default, then home button and it will let you pick any launcher again. I have 4 launchers installed and flip between them when ever I want.

Correct a mundo!

Do you lose any performance from installing a launcher? Does it replace touchwiz or sit ontop of it?

Replaces it. Nova Launcher that I use performance has increased.

Just try it, its not a new ROM, only a program that you can uninstall.

What theme / launcher are you using?

Mr Luongs Rom V5.1

Gives a nice little boost: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=23282741&postcount=2666

The ROM links have been pulled down due to warez. Quite naughty of him, he integrated some paid apps for free into the ROM.
