My assumption is that a dual channel kit is better but any thoughts?

If I bought two or four of these for a future system, can I use them in dual channel mode (if used on ivybridge motherboard). I won't be overclocking if at all. I would love the extra memory and would I be able to play latest demanding games and have office and other apps running at same time?

Yes they will work in single, dual, triple or quad channel no problem.

I have no idea, but just bought two anyway. £40 for 16GB. I remember upgrading a 486 from 4MB to 16MB and it cost a small fortune.

Yes but the Kingston ram would be downclocked to 1333mhz.

Do you mean replacing two of the four sticks with the Kingston RAM, so you'd have two sticks of GSkill and two of Kingston?
