The "This ebayer just stinks of scam..." thread.

Had a similar situation with a person with a fake British address, using an American email provider, claiming to live in Hawaii, requesting that I send the package to Nigeria, and requesting that I send before they pay.

After opening a case and resolving the problem with eBay (they got banned) I got my item re-listed for free as per eBay's terms regarding the situation, and the same scammer bought the item again, so I got them banned again, and sold the item elsewhere.

*edit* actually no that's a lie, it hasn't been sold at all. It's sitting here next to me...

How can we trust anything you say!! Bet you never even had the item :)

Contact ebay and send them what you have been told. Then raise a non payment ticket (which you can do after a few days). A few days after that the ticket can be closed with the non payment marker added to his account.

If you had UK sale only on your listing and are unhappy with posting to Italy relist it. If he pays you via paypal can you track the package to italy to confirm delivery? If not they could pull the "I haven received my item" on you.

Ask for a postal address, then say

"oh, I live under a mile away, coming over now with cash and my mate, BIG DAVE"

You think OP is bad, look at this. Was looking earlier and this was about to finish..

Though if you check his new feedback :p

Why are you pleased this genuine seller got left undeserved negative feedback

It's the retard who bought the item who deserves a neg not the seller. Cant believe how retarded some people are.

Because he doesn't state that it's a box only, only in the details it does.

Welcome to my auction
Mint condition iphone 4s 16GB black box with Iphone 4s manual
Please note-Box only!!!!!
No reserve-one day auction
Happy bidding!!!!!!

WTF

What else does the seller have to do, jesus.

But even with those in the written description, he's still misleading with the data he provided in Ebay's standardised specification imformation:

Storage Capacity: 16 GB
Colour: Black
Model: iPhone 4S
Operating System: iOS
Camera: 8 Megapixel
SIM Lock: Unlocked

1. Since when do we quote a box's storage capacity in gigabytes?
2. The box is white
3. The box isn't an iphone 4s, what came it is was.
4. To my knowledge a cardboard box doesn't have an operating system
5. How many boxes come with a camera fitted?
6. Why does a box need a SIM ?

So regardless of whether he put "box only" elsewhere in the ad, he still gave misleading information about the item.

Yes it was daft of the buyer not to take note of that 'box only' but the seller deliberately put in other details that weren't pertinant and lead to the seller being mislead in to buying the item for a much higher price than it was worth.

If this was a shop doing this I have no doubt you'd all be telling the buyer to go running to trading standards.

Those details are necessary for the buyer. If you've got a White Iphone 4s 32GB, theres no point buying a box for a Black Iphone 4s 16GB. Its not that complicated really. It takes 2 secs to see its for a BOX ONLY!!!!!!

The box is white, the phone picture on the box is either black or white. I suspect he wasnt describing the actual colour of the box :o

"Else where in the description" It was on the 3rd line, in huge red writing, with about half a dozen explanation marks. If anyone was confused in the very slightest, they would have to be retarded.

Or very trusting and using Ebay mobile(which seems to be increasingly popular these days).

The item was listed as Apple iPhone 4S - 16 GB - Black (Unlocked) smartphone in category: Mobile Phones & Communication > Mobile & Smart Phones.

Anyone entering that auction using ebay mobile would see an auction for a mint condition boxed unlocked iphone 4s. They would have to navigate to another page to read the description that said box only.
