Hi,

I want to buy someone some extremely hot chilli sauce, the hotter the better, preferably good tasting too :p. Can anyone recommend one and possibly where to buy online?

Budget £20

Thanks :)

Daves Insanity sauce it pretty hot and has a nice flavour. The ghost pepper version is slightly hotter but is quite disgusting really, its only really useful for adding heat.

No other experience with more expensive variants though...

Making your own is ftw :)

Check out some of Glaucas' threads on sauces/chutneys and then adapt to include a ton of naga chillies. Job done :p

Isn't hot sauces a diminishing return?, the hotter it is the less you have to add.
don't you get the same effect by just adding more of a less strong one?

Not particularly the point. If all you want is heat, then you might as well just buy a bottle of capsicum extract and be done with it. The balance of heat and flavour is where it's at.

Can't say I'm a fan of Dave's insanity sauce. Not sure what it is. But even a small amount gives me stomach cramps about 5hours latter. Where other stupidly hot stuff doesn't.

I haven't found any I'm particuly happy with yet. The ones I've tried don't have a good balance.

Need to make some of my own, but not sure how easy it is to preserve without sugar as I've gone primal. Hence the lack off cooking, allthough I am slowly looking you can make some slightly complex dishes. Rather than just grilled meat and veg.

Some of the Dave's Insanity Sauce's are pretty decent and canny value too.
Is yer mate used to this type of stuff?
Last think you want to be doing is giving him some form of chilli related coughing/sneezing fit on xmas day :p lol

Who Dares Burns: The Second Burn, from Hot Headz (check their site). Very hot, with just the right amount of flavour to offset it. Also, if you want a sauce thats a lot more milder (but still warm enough), then I cannot recommed Brother Bru Bru's African Hot Sauce enough, also available from the Hot Heads site. All natural flavours and NO salt at all too!

I dont think that ghost pepper is that hot though, tastes nice though, i like it mixed 50/50 with tomatoe sauce and on my chips.

Certainly hotter than insanity though.

Are you sure we're talking the same sauce here? Lol. I eat a lot of spicy foods/sauces and the ghost pepper one knocked me for six.

That stuff is brutal lol, cleared me right out the first time I tried that. Hot Headz Hab Nacho Cheese dip is probably my favourite of theirs.

This was the last haul I picked up whilst at the Chichester Chili Fiesta:

The Head Hunters is probably my favourite, lovely flavours and a nice heat without being too daft.
