Myself and Mr T 'pity the fool' that doesn't use the 12.11 beta series of drivers.

However in answer to your question

Well i have only just moved to this driver now that the XBMC font issue has been fixed.

I'll wait till my pair of 7970 OC's come later in the week and then install these, finally get some decent frame rates from FC3 :D

Updated to the theses 12.11 beta 11 and CAP2 12.11 my FC3 performance seems worst anyone else think the same?
This was a clean install after using driver sweeper plus Ccleaner.

Huge(literally) improvement for me:

+1

BF3 Aftermath gets a thumbs up for 79 CrossFireX.:D

FC3 big improvement in CrossFireX between the new driver and 1.02 patch, no more dips to 30fps on max everything@1080p when driving fast through the jungle, it's sitting in the 60's now and 70fps+ running about and the cutscenes are now smooth too :D.

That's@8xMSAA.

Is FC3 patched up to 1.02?

Don't know if it's the combination of driver/patch in FC3 or whatever, but performance is where it should be now.

Why am I only getting 65% usage with my 7970s (crossfired) in BF3?.

I have an i7 920 at 4GHZ and a 1080p monitor.

I want my 35% back!

A single 7970 is overkill for 1080p, two of them is serious overkill. Thats why you arent getting full usage.

Thanks for that matt, however I still see drops in framerate when looking over a large map....sometimes down to 70 fps. I have the framerate locked at 120 fps.

Looks like a CPU limitation to me, a little surprising to the extent.
Although with BF3 I'd expect your CPU to be fully maxed out.
There's still fair grunt left in it.

I've just tried my cpu at 4.2 for a while and i'm still getting only 65% usage from my cards.

I have also tried disabling crossfire and the framerate plummeted....so crossfire is working.

Hmm, upping to 4.2GHZ should have given more GPU usage (Not a vast amount though)
That said, I know a recent BF3 update has had some negative affects.
What other games do you play?

7950/70 CrossFireX@1080p was getting about 63-75% usage on the last Betas, but the Beta 11 was pumping out 93-97% gpu usage on both cards the other night for me on the AF maps.

When I tried CrossFireX out at first back with the 12.7/8's(can't quite remember which one it was), I was getting 93-97% gpu usage as well.

It is complete overkill Matt, but with minimums in the high 90's on my 120Hz, it really is super smooth.:D

It's obviously not needed, but I always want MOAR POWER(insert evil cackle).....

I don't have any other games at the moment, I have just had the resource monitor running whilst in game and the average CPU usage was 50-60%

Some threads were about 40% but most were in the 50-60% range.

I must say that the 7970s in crossfire really help to smooth the game out.

But I would like to see more usage from them.
