3G internet for home use?

Just checked sync speed..
I take it this means there are things that can be improved?

You could also check BT's website and see any information there or Google it for your area.
Edit: Your download is 3Mb/s from what I see. Speeds could be fluctuating due to usage within your area. Your uplink speed is also nice to see especially for your geographical location. 0.6Mb/s used to be the upload for Virgin's 20Mb/s package before the upgrades that started a few years back.

3 meg aint bad for 61 attenuation.
According to that link FTTC is available, yet on the bt website and others providers are still saying the best I could get is what i'm currently on
That's confusing, have you tried phoning BT or the ADSL company you're subscribed to (Talk-Talk) and ask to speak to a higher member of the team (preferably head office). Ask them if you're able to get the FTTC and if it's there. If not they should give you an insight to when and an estimate of how fast your download/upload might be depending on location from the planned placement of the cabinet.

I'm getting 17Mbit from my phone on 3G, not bad.

Make sure you're covered in your area. Also, these speeds won't be everywhere. Third, I'd not recommend 3G for home use unless you really have no choice. Also I think for over 10Mbit or so you need a HSPA+ capable device. My old iPhone 4S only managed 8Mbit I think.

I was with Three mobile, got myself a cheap handset (HTC Explorer, £90 unlocked from Asda) paid £15 every 30 days for the All you can eat data and never really had any problems, ping was a little slow, around 140 ish, and the peak daytime speeds were around 2mbps but after 12 midnight I could download at around 700/800 kb/s. Like a lot of ppl have said already though, the load speed for pages is on the slow side but if your in a good area for coverage its worth going for imo.

You'll have to get the one plan, it's the only plan from any company that allows unlimited tethering.

No its not, you can do it with the all in one 15 add on too, it has all you can eat data for 30 days on 3 mobile

doesn't include tethering. That's a £5 extra and you're limited to in terms of your download allowance.
