Far Cry 3 Thread

One of the annoyance's i have is the undistructable physics.

You fire a RPG at a old rusted building does it blow to peices.....no, but they have distructable phyics in FC2. For example if i plant c4 onto a enemies camp wall i want to see actual peices fly everywhere and debris can damage you or the player, that would give a sense of realism.

the other niggles i have is all the bases look the god damn same, which is where the repatition come in. eventually the stealthy wears of you start to run out of ideas to infriltrate a base because you snipe 3-4 enemies bam the base is yours, which ties into the above no destruction. You should get XP on how much destruction you do or have different types of camoflage or use decoys.

you want to see Crysis 2, man it's full of faults, i played it for the 1st time yesterday in weeks.

it aint anywhere near as good as Borderlands 2, the gameplay/ mechanics/ nano suit are so bad, it's just so sluggish and slow.

Alcatraz is like Zero but with a concrete slab on his back and a ball and chain on his right ankle.

FAR CRY 3 might be bad, but hay; it aint the only one is it
 
Just got the .50 cal and wow, this thing is god like. :cool:

I also loaded up a jeep with C4, drove it into a camp (bailing out 20 or so metres before the camp), watched it run a few bandits over then set the charges off killing a couple more. Awesome. :p
 
Watched a video of this, it seems like its a good game if you completely ignore the story missions and just run around.

That's the tack I've been taking to an extent. Run around hunting and gathering, sorting out radio towers and outposts, moving in the direction of the next story objective.

The story is actually very good. The missions can get boring simply because of the hand-holding, without all of the hints and flashing items etc it would be really good. Otherwise it is the other way around, and it is the clearing camps/radio Towers and supply drops which are better ignored.

Imo, the world is nowhere near interactive enough to be truly fun to explore....there are plenty of buildings/settlements, but few have anyone in them, and the ones that do you can't speak to.

The story has all the ingredients to be awesome, the rich kids out of their comfort zone, superstitious yokels, mind bending drugs and the lead slowly becoming a sociopathic killing machine. Shame they got some lazy sixth formers to write it

I do the story missions as a break between raiding camps, towers, exploring and generally arsing about trolling the goons and wildlife

I think it is really well handled. I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed Jason's gradual decent in to madness and his interactions with some of the characters.
The trippy scenes and the speech he gives to the tribe, and his gradual integration in to the tribe are really great moments imo.
It is just a shame that there are design elements to the missions(and overall game) which let it down and somewhat detract from the immersion and the experience. A patch to remove all the hints and allow you to remove the map if you wish would really do wonders for this game.

They remove icons from the game, Minimap and mainmap.

Updated to the new 12.11 beta 11 and CAP2 12.11 my FC3 performance seems worst anyone else think the same?
This was a clean install after using driver sweeper plus Ccleaner.

My 7950 is loving the Beta 11 and CAP2. I can actually enable 2xMSAA now and run directx11 with its perks at playable framerates and no sudden drops.
 
Well i have played 14 hours and i like the game, also the people that say you can buy all the weapons from the start you can't, there are signature weapons which you unlock by collecting relics,letters etc.
If you look at your handbook it shows when you signature weapons will be unlocked, they are hollow white stars.
Just got the barret, wow its powerful!
 
Have they done away with that annoying thing from Farcry 2 where if you kill a patrol or some enemies and come back 1 minute later they've respawned again?
