Technically Christmas was a pagan holiday and was 'stolen' for Christianity.

If I went to China, I'd celebrate the Chinese new year celebration, I don't have to be Chinese, it's integrating yourself in part of the culture. Christmas is part of our culture, it's not a religious holiday to everyone, and you don't have to be religious to celebrate it.

I didnt say you had to be? fail. I said its pretty hypocritical to celebrate the birth of christ (which is what it is, regardless of whatever spin you want to put on it) if your an atheist.

If hes white/black and hes got a wife whos a "muslim" its 95% Guaranteed that her parents are not speaking to her. Trust me its what happens in asian communities. But you of course would know better than me :rolleyes:

But being an atheist has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, its the non belief in God. Who's to say Jesus didn't exist?

As was posted before by others, if I was in China I'd celebrate Chinese new year, it's festive time, cultural celebration, happiness.

In fact I did try to "celebrate" Christmas but it wasn't about christ, none of my friends are religious yet we still made an effort to cook Turkey, invite friends over, have crackers.

It's not solely a celebration of that any more, it used to be, but now it's part of our culture.

But Christianity recognises jesus as the son of god, and Christmas is celebrating the birth of christ, so if your not religious and you dont believe in Christianity, Islam, Judaism etc etc then you dont believe in Jesus because he is affiliated with religion.

It's possible to believe in a person called Jesus Christ who lived many years ago, without believing he was the son of God, or without believing he was a prophet of God.
