Duchess of Cambridge's nurse has reportedly been found dead

Um, did you two actually bother to read the post I was replying to?

I was deliberately posing a silly hypothetical to counter another one. It wasn't a metaphor

I'm not sure how your silly counter from the other end means anything though?

It's just after 03:00 in Sydney and I'm listening to the radio station to see if they have any comment.

They're still playing the call! I've just heard them play an intro and then a quick teaser for it.

Clearly they're on an overnight automated service but this is just terrible behaviour on their part, as soon as this news broke someone should have been at the station and pulling these inserts. Heads deserve to roll.

shocking! why would she kill herself? was she told off very harshly or something? just makes no sense :(

Maybe because she breached confidentiality and would as a result of that be likely to not only lose her job but her future chance of working in healthcare also. Not that its the most appropriate way to deal with that but you can kind of see how she would be at an alltime low.

Heads should roll? Oh come on.

One of the "DJs" has deleted their twitter account:

The other:

Radio station getting plenty of mentions..
https://twitter.com/search?q=@2DayFMSydney

Their website seems to be down atm too http://www.2dayfm.com.au/

Both those Twitter accounts are gone. Could possibly even be that Twitter has disabled them due to the sheer amount of abuse they are receiving. However, even though its the middle of the night in Australia, this is bound to be the headline news, so not inconceivable that they will be awake and aware of it.

Whilst they are technically to blame in the sense that if they hadn't done it in the first place, it would never have happened, could they truly have anticipated this outcome and have liability for it? Not in my view.

Simply a truly idiotic and tragic situation.

That was metaphorical, never heard that term before?

Let me rephrase it.

People working for that radio station deserve to lose their jobs.

Disgusting that this Woman's life has been made a misery because of the media attention and the way they blew it out of proportion.

Leveson inquiry is finished and I fear no lessons have been learned at all :/

Cannot believe the Twitter page from those two idiots in Australia :S

But to KILL yourself ??? I suspect she was already on her way to checking-out but needed something to push her over the edge

Very sad. Imo the presenters obviously played a part, so they shouldn't deserve to get off with the 'oh it's not our fault' arguments.

Why?

Would they deserve to lose their jobs if she didn't kill herself?

You can not control her actions.

I'm no shrink but i can't see a perfectly stable person deciding to kill themselves over this. I'd place a bet on her having other issues going on.

I'd wager it is more to do with the disciplinary wrath of a deeply humiliated middle-class Management. I bet she was suspended from work and threatened with not only losing her job and income, but being struck completely from the medical profession under jumped-up patient confidentiality issues, mainly to do with the status of said patient.
This....

All because of a prank at the end of the day. If the prank hadnt taken place, she would still be alive today, so anyone who says it wasnt because of the prank is off their ****.

I hope that the hospital instead of throwing the nurse to the wolves supported her. Sometimes you hear of how silly things get taken to far by HR and the likes and with the press attached to this I can only hope this wasnt what caused her to do it.

Of course I've heard the phrase before, and it's still ridiculous. Why should someone lose their job because she killed herself? Should people have been fired before she killed herself?

Sometimes people react differently. We don't know her circumstances, her aspirations, etc. If that profession was what she always wanted to do, was the means to keep the bills paid for whatever, then sometimes it may look like the option to take. Especially if the hospital were far from supportive and the threat of professional action was mentioned. Which in fairness it most likely would in such a case.
