Dead pixel :( Annoying as it is right in the middle of the screen. Hopefully i will get a quick response from dell

There is more then 1, that black one seems the most prominent one - there also seems to be a group of grey ones to the side which i couldnt picture too well. Admittedly i thought it was a smudge/dirt as ive been in pretty poor lighting conditions however i have just given the screen an alcohol clean and they are apparent. Normally they want around 6 dead pixels before they do anything, will have to see what is said!

Are you able to download all of the alienware stuff if you do a full reinstall of windows? As I was wanting to put my two current ssd drives in my m17x when it arrives

I'll be doing the same, I there's a cd/dvd that comes with it, that has all the necessary software.

If you have a new machine you should get the drivers DVD. If you got it on the Outlet, you'll need to put your service tag in and manually download all the drivers and install them in the correct order.
Windows 7 install guide:
http://support.dell.com/support/top...&l=en&s=gen&cs=&dgc=SM&cid=249387&lid=4345490
And the initial drivers required:

Hope that helps. Back home from being away with stupidly slow internet  so I'm hoping to nab myself an Alienware before the new year

The drivers on the Dell support site can be quite out of date, especially the graphics card ones that are often updated. I normally go to the device manufacturers' web sites and get the latest versions of everything. Takes a while though!

Think I'm gonna be waiting a long long time to pull the trigger fast enough on the outlet for an M17x, started looking last week and boy do they go fast!

Anyone managed to get much of a discount when calling the sales line? I've only been offered a paltry 100GBP off a system priced online at 1900GBP?
