Some people are saying, it was just a prank and the events which unfolded as a result could never have been envisaged, it was an extreme and unexpected outcome for sure, but should this kind of prank ever be carried out on hospital staff?
It seems very irresponsible on the part of the radio station to think it ok to waste the time of people who are doing important work, work which directly affects the health & well being of others, hospital workers are facing life & death situations every day, you would think the radio station would realize this and save their pranks for people whose work time isn't as critical.
I'm not intending to get on my high horse here, pranks can be entertaining & funny but intentionally wasting the time of people who are caring for the sick is just plain stupid IMO.
Having said all that, I'm not sure the DJ's are to blame, the call was pre-recorded and only aired at the approval of more senior members of staff at the station. Did the DJs even mastermind the hoax? Whoever approved the call for air time is more at fault IMO.
