Hiya guy,
If using ssd, is really necessary to have a sata 3 mobo or would you see much
Difference use a sata 2 connection

It will also depend on the read and write speed of the SSD, it will be a bit improvement over a HDD

Firmware upgrades are also proven to improve the read and write speeds, so out forget this if upgrading to SSD. You'll need to do it before reinstalling te OS.

If you have sata 2 it is also important if that motherboard can output the theoretical speed of sata 2 250-270Mb/s
I got an SSD on sata 2 and i get 170Mb/s read and 140Mb/s write
Depending on the motherboard you can get more or less
And on sata 1 i get 130 read and 110 write
I do not see a big difference from sata 1 to sata 2
So you might see improvement on sata 3 but not that much

I don't have a.mobo at the moment, im thinking of building my PC for the first time
Just weighting
up things looking for advice etc
