What so the DJs have no involvement at all? Or am I reading this wrong?
It's called common sence
Prank call a Chinese takeaway but not a hospital pretending to be a royal, they keep on going on about "we didn't expect to be put through" why did they continue to play along asking for information when they clearly knew they shouldn't be doing it
Why is it absolutely OK to phone a Chinese takeway and not a reception? Consider the call in question to the receptionist. They made a single call, put on silly voices, and certainly didn't go digging for "confidential information". In all respects it was pretty innocuous stuff.
Now consider the myriad of other other prank calls where people are in someway the brunt of the joke. Listen to this for example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0TxfwB3BWQ
Does this guy sound like he's not being victimised? Repeated calls, over and over... Imagine if the guy in this pizza shop had committed suicide. We'd have exactly the same pitch fork mob running after this prank caller with their power of 20-20 self righteousness hindsight!
The only reason this matter is getting the undeserved attention it is getting, is because clearly a mentally unstable lady has unfortunately decided to commit suicide. She could have just laughed it off (as per Pizza man above) but instead committed suicide for some unknown reason.
Did the DJ's make a mistake? Possibly. Phoning a hospital about a royal is questionable. But in light of their appalling impressions and really not attempting to get any information it's clear it was meant as nothing more than a lighthearted prank.
Let's not crucify them due to a mentally unstable lady committing suicide.
Has anybody here ever rang an hospital ward for information on a patient because it is very easy to do.
Lets say you know somebody called John Smith is in Ward 76, all you do is ring the ward reception, tell them you are his brother and you want to know how he is and the staff will give bare minimum information like "He had a good night and just had his breakfast".
This is no way contravenes any data protection act or information and it happens 24/7.
It will be a sad time when staff say "Sorry Sir, you will have to come to the hospital with your passport and 2 other pieces of evidence before we tell you how your brother is".

$500,000.00 being paid to the family via a fund. guilty as charged.
$500,000.00 being paid to the family via a fund. guilty as charged.
Two questions.
1). If I tell someone a joke about a chicken crossing a road, and they commit suicide because of a traumatic childhood experience involving chickens, am I then responsible for their death?
2). If one (or both) of these DJs commit suicide because of the "pressure" who are the angry mob in this thread going to blame?
they are only paying because they know they are partly responsible. why else would they.
Sorry but that is not the way it should be.
The public are right they are at fault and now they are paying up.
