I have a really weird problem (I think),
whenever I make a phone call the screen goes blank (call still works) and if I tap the unlock key It comes on for about a second then goes blank again.
If you are lucky you can hit the end call key or speaker phone key buts its getting on my **** as I use speakerphone a lot.

Anybody else got this?

Its a problem with the proximity sensor, the 800 had the same issues.

Best to get a replacement.

Are you using a screen protector, many of them cover the proximity sensor making the phone think it's pressed against the side of your head.

The proximity sensor is above the N in Nokia.

Basically the screen going off when it's pressed against your head is to stop you pressing buttons with your ear.

Yep I got the Rock case. Lovely bit of kit. Agree with what Mr. Jones has said really, it looks the part and has a quality feel to it.

Excellent for £5, expect to wait 2 weeks for delivery from Hong Kong though.

i was wondering how the phone felt after you put he case on? did it feel much wider? and also how accessible are the buttons, can you very easily press press them as before?

i bought a cheep similar case here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390504575279?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

the case is pretty good, i cant complain for £3. it seems very thin but seems a little thicker on the sides and near where the buttons are. the button holes are a kind of strange shape leaving more room towards the back of the phone, and whilst i thought this may have been shabby design, i think ive now noticed its there for a reason to make it easier to press the buttons particularly when using in one in one hand.

sorry didnt have a better camera :P its kind of like a matt black with a slight rubbery texture. if anybody is looking for a very cheap cover to be delivered quickly, this does the job very well. the free scree protector that came with it didnt go on very well, probably due to my lousy handling or maybe the curved glass, but it has gorilla glass anyway so im not to bothered about having a screen protector on.

Without trawling through 182 pages of thread, can anyone tell me what the battery life is like?

I'm quite a heavy user tbh. I'm used to charging my phone at the minute everyday, just wondering how people find the 920? :)

too be honest bud, im super impressed with the battery, easily twice as good as my ex s3 and that had a bigger battery.

my 920 was sim locked and the battery was really great. when i unlocked it i thought the life might go down a bit since its connected to a network, but its hasnt changed at all evan though its connected to 3g all day.

i consider myself a moderate-heavy user, regularly browsing, checking texts, emails, facebook blah blah,

today the phone has been off charge for 9.5 hours and the charge is still 73% which is pretty good in my books...

i do find that if your using an app or game that is more graphics intense and uses more cpu, the battery will drain quite quickly, but thats the same on any phone.

i think the phone really excels in saving battery when idle which is probably more of a compliment to the windows os than the phone.

the problem with my old s3, is evan when idle, it seemed to be doing loads of things in the background i was unaware of taking up lots of ram and the battery just seem to drain. twice on a night out my battery went dead on me and i got a bit stranded when i got separated from my mates and couldnt call them. i ended up asking the police to use their micro usb charger in their car lol.

Just a quick question...

I have been playing with some weather apps, and there is one that wont work without the location services on.

What does location services entail? Does it mean that the GPS will be on continuously to pull the data? Or does it user other methods to find it?

the new met office app is good.

Downloaded a trial this morning...

Much much better than most Weather Apps, no Met Office warnings but if that's not a problem, WeatherFlow is ACE! I have a lockscreen for weather, with changing wallpaper depending on weather. Who needs live tiles now? :p

Edit: Going to buy it after the trial ends in 2 days, see if it affects battery.

It allows the GPS to monitor where you are, obviously, then it will pull down the weather data for that area, example is that my location name changes from Belfast where I live to where I work, and it updates temps and outlook forecast etc.
Its one of the few live updates I use TBH.
Went through most of them and Amazing Weather is lovely, best looking weather apps on it.
